To me it looks like there are still pieces missing. maybe those symbol pieces are the things that go bump!!! They may form a path to makuta or maybe even the bahrag!!! Ok this is making way to much sense to me.    Who else kidna agree's with me?

Purple Dave said that you can print them out, then cut them out,fold it together, and you get the Nuva cube.

If you print the picture out you can fold it into a cube          

The symbols are the signs of the 6 Toa Nuva
They can form a cube just like the one that trapped Cadhok and Gadhok
Just print the picture and make a cube out of it and tape it together
It's great

Moving to Theories...

i found another cube image, well, i didn't find it, there was another topic that had a link to this http://www.geocities.com/killertemujin/untitled.bmp so i don't deserve any credit.

But, where would   's and 's symbols go? I assume on the sides of   's. How could the symbols be the things that go bump? The only possibilities I know of is that when the Nuva collect all of their K. Nuva, they get a square of that pattern(like the Makoki stones) or there are 6 things that go bump and you get a square of the pattern when you defeat one. In both possibilities the Nuva may have to arrange the pieces correctly to open a gate leading to somewhere where an important battle will take place(maybe back to Makuta's lair).

Your s'posed to make a cube with'em, there's no peices missing.

i think this may be the closest to the truth.  all of the symbols go together to form the one cube shape, which could either show all of the toa coming together to form one kaita, or perhaps it is just to show them once again that teamwork is the only way to defeat this new evil

Maybe it is a new way of transforming. Maybe if the toa hold hands in that order, maybe they transform.

Or mabye its just a decoration you guys take everything to seriou sly bionicle wouldnt be so deep as to explain things like where the bohrok came from and the nuva cube its only 7 and up
