I keep hearing about Kanohi Nuva Packs. It gets me thinking. If they had the Golden Kanohi before the protodermis, Wouldn't they get an upgrade not a downgrade? Since the Toa Nuva have normal Kanohi Nuva, does that mean they have to find all Six Kanohi Nuva too?  
I am a Kanohi collecter, (for Kopaka anyway), and Just when I complete my collection, they make something new!! Are these Kanohi nuva a big part of the story line, or are they just designed to pull Collector's money in. Post your thoughts here.

I think they will be important to the story line just like the old kanohi were. I think they got downgraded because protodermis may have damaging effects. The bahrag go in bahrag nuva don't come out. So I guese the toa were lucky to come out has toa nuva as well, but there kanohi were changed into there original color, but with more power. maybe the gold kanohi split into nongold kanohi and were turned into kanohi nuva and then they just shot out of the protodermis and landed in random places across mata-nui.

actually they kinda dont need gold masks becouse after the come up the roof caves in and the hau protected everone when theonly hau was tahus

That's a good theory PZ. Yeah, the masks changed from giving all of the powers to one toa to giving one power to all of the toa. C what I mean?

Actually if you look at the comic 8 script lewa and pohatu use there powers to get the entire group out of the underground place. So its not really a theory.

But if they travel in groups of two or by themselves they won't be able to use the toa's powers. Gali won't be able to sheild herself if she travels alone and she only has her Kaukau nuva.

No they have to find the Nuva masks

I think that because the new kanohi are so much more powerful it is still an upgrade, but now they have to collect them all over again.

i figure the nuva masks will play just as big of a story role as the original kanohi and i look forward to finding gold ones.i actually thought it was a lot of fun to collect all the different kanohi regs. so why wouldn't i have fun doing it again with the nuva masks?  if one wanted to look at the whole thing as just a ploy to bring in money then couldn't every area of bionicle be targeted.  i mean, why did they make six types of everything instead of just sticking to the basic four elements?
