first of all, you may be thinking this belongs in technic bionicle sets, but there is a reason i put it in storyline and theories, have you ever noticed that nui-rama wings look like they may be made from protodermis material? i'll get to the theory part when someone has posted saying they have or ahve not

well it sounds like an idea but i think its just for the sake of looking like real bug wings though they are a bit skinny

They don't look so proto to me... But it would explain how they're able to fly with axls instead of real wings.

ok, now here is the theory part of it, consider that le-koro is right next to onu-koro, and it is because the mnolg helps explain that, now than, what do they try to get in onu-koro? protodermis, because in the mnolg it mentions onu-koroan miners tryiung to get protodermis, now then, nui-rama live in le-wahi, right next to onu-wahi, where protodermis is "harvested", now let's ay that there was an exposure of protodermis somewhere, nui-rama could have een exposed to it, and evolved obtaining proto wings, it's just a thought though

Actually, this is half sets and half theory. I think that that kind of stuff belongs in general disscusion.

You know what I think i think that the nui rama's wings are skinny floppy and very flimsy
what I did with my nui-rama was build him upside down so his claws/feet shoot forward. And I think everything on matanui should be prototised I think they would look a lot cooler like that!
