I have a theory on how the masks work. I think maybe the toa have the powers already but can't use them. when they wear the masks, they tap into the area of the toa's brain which has that mask power and act as a channel for the power. I expect many people have read something alon the lines of "to defeat makuta, the toa must first collect the great masks of power. each mask grants the toa new powers and wisdom." My theory is that the masks let the toa use more of their brain so that maymake them wiser.

Well then, they would lose that wisdom once they removed their mask,wouldn't they?

I think the masks contain the powers, since they can be tainted, and once they have been, they provide an entirely different power. However, that may well be because I never thought of your theory, which is also good.

Its an idea. Its true that people only use 10% of their brain, so it has a point. I like it.

That's a myth. I know where it originated too. Some guy called Karl Spencer removed large portions of some rats' brains and they could still survive. What he didn't do, however, was test to see whether they could do the same things that rats with full brains could do. ON TOPIC: I think that the power is concentrated in the masks. However, I think that the Kanohi Nuva must have psychic link that lets them channel power to each other. If this were so, it would answer the (never-asked) question about whether or not a Kanohi Nuva could work with an ordinary Kanohi.

Actually there is some truth to that.

The average human doesn't ACTIVELY use 100% of their brain. But in all fairness...the entire brain is used.

However, most of the brain is subconsious/involuntary stuff. So we can't actively use it (that is to say can't control its use)

There are very few "useless" areas in the brain. It's just true that we only actively use that 10%.

And as far as the Masks go, I'm fairly certain they contain the power. The Kanohi have a certain power assigned, the Gold Kanohi allow them to use all the powers at once, and the Kanohi Nuva all them to share those powers with others.

Well what i heard is that you only use 10% at a time cause brain cells cant make more of themselves, when they die you use a new one.
And about the Nuva Psychic link thing- It sounds good cause they were all in protodermis at the same time, so it could have made alink. Although the nuva's powers work on Matoran too...

I saw a documentary about a family of farmers cut of a head of a chicken and like all chickens it still lived for a few minutes.
This one lived almost 2 days,the family couldn't kill it
