The Master
Many people have been jumping to conclusions about the new info about the Nuva Cube being the lock to the Bahrag's prison, there is more to it. They are all forgeting something. What about those mysterious pictures of the Nuva Cube in the comics (see the middle of the comic 9, right page, bottom) with the pieces of interlocking rock all around the Cube? This what I think. I think that the Cube is already in existence. It must be hidden somewhere deep underground. The Kal must have access to it.
Then why are the Kal stealing the symbols from the villages?
The reason is Kal need the symbols in each of the villages to use for molding purposes. These symbols (for they have no power as Kopaka says himself) are prefect molds. The indentantions on them are just that: indentations. They do not go all the way through. Most likely the gravity Kal (I don't want to get into that controversy here) will crush a rock into it or something, but that's just details smile.gif The resulting thing (I'll call it a key) is depicted in the aforementioned picture.
Let me get deeper into what the Nuva Cube is: it is the lock to the prison of the Bahrag and the key to the Toa Nuvas' power. Let me explain. In many of the pictures of the Nuva Cube, you can see energy emitting from the middle of the Cube outward. This energy is the Power of the Nuva. When one of these sides has a "key" in it, the corresponding Toa Nuva loses his power and most likely the other Nuva are strengthened, as depicted by Kopaka's loss of power in comic 9. Once all the "keys" are in place the Nuva Cube probably self-destructs because the power has nowhere to escape and the energy-builtup blows it to pieces. Then the Bahrag are freed. It is doubtful what exactly will happen when the Nuva Cube is destroyed when it comes to its effect on the Toa Nuva.
Well, that's my theory. Tear it to pieces if you feel like it smile.gif

wow, thats very similar to a theory i tried to just explain myself. i dont know about the self destructing thing though. if the cube was that easily destroyed, i think the kal would just go ahead and do that. i dont think it locks up the bahrag anymore either. i used to, but now i think the cube directly is only tied to the toa. perhaps, its the toa powers themselves that are holding the bahrag captive and by sealing off the cube energies, the bahrag elsewhere in their energy cage will be released, as the cage will just cease to be, just like the toa's energies. or who knows, perhaps it goes even deeper than that.
true fear...
What I think is that the bahrag are making the kal take away the toa Nuva's power symbols to get ride of their elemental powers so they have no way to win against the bahrag again, and/or free the bahrag from their prison to bring havoc to the would!!

Any way, you guys should read last batch of answers from Greg.
In them he told us that the cube IS the key to the Bahrag's prison.
As for the Part about it exploding, but I don't think the Kal can make the symbols.
I think the symbols had to have protodermis poured on them,
AND the Toa Nuva's touch to have it's power.
All we really know though is that the Kal need them to make the Key to freeing the Bahrag.

Cool theory, I like it. Welcome to Bzp, The Master! smile.gif

Even The Master's theory has a flaw (play on words) ...

For the cube to be the key to the NUVA'S power, and for it to be a key for ONLY the bahrag's cage, the cube, and, therefore, the Kal, must have existed only as long as the Toa have had their new form, contrary to what GregF said.

No, no, no. I said the Cube was the Key to the Power of the Nuva as well as the lock to the Bahrag's prison.
And yes, Nuva Cube must always have existed, deep underground, waiting for the coming of the Toa and their transformal into the Toa Nuva. In it existed the Power of the Nuva and this Power also must always have existed. That explains why the Bahrag were calling the Toa fools when they combined their powers in comic 8. They knew of the existence of the Cube. And if their Kal carried out their task well, they would
be freed and the powers of the Nuva added to their own.
How do I know that the Bahrag knew of the existence of the Cube?
Because the Cube existed in the "before-time" as did the Bahrag, also deep underground. "Mata-Nui will be as it was in the before-time." (Comic 5)
The Ka, on the otherhand, always existed as Greg said, but they probably were just released from their pods.

Also, about the Nuva Cube destructing after all sides have "keys" in them, I was just guessing what would happen. After reviewing my theory, the idea of the Bahrag being able to use the Power of the Nuva for their own uses makes more sense.
