I see what you are saying but if they did you would probably be saying why don't the toa wear mask and the bohrok die when their krana are out and so on.

I think they wear the masks to make them look cooler. I don't think changing armour would be that good. It would be like having a Toa Olda finding armour and new weapons with new Kanohi and just puts on the armour to power up and they can revert.


About the Bohrok and Krana. Well, I don't think after they were ejected they lived. I think the Turaga and Matoran Tamed the Krana and put them back in their bodys. Either that it was a comic error.

and remember the interview with the bionicle designers, they said they first wanted to make the toa's heads eject instead, so who knows, maybe the toa would of collected different heads instead of masks

Why do the Toa have masks? Well, a mask seems to make more sense than armour, doesn't it? It is also something which would work for the Turaga and Matoran, who don't wear armour. I think they didn't change heads because it would have been a bit gorey. And the Va could help the disabled Bohrok, couldn't they?
