who or what is takunuva, exactly?

I think he is the toa nuva of light. He rides some strange creature and by the name similarity, he could be takua transformed into a toa.

We actually don't know who (or what) Takanuva is. We think he may be:

1. Takua Nuva
2. The Toa Of Light
3. both

He could also be some other Matoran Nuva'd, we really don't know.

Ok, he was not in a strict sense "proto'd", the right term for what the toa went through. My theory is that he transformed as result of wearing the mask of light.

I like this theory, it is a really good point. The toa transformed from wearing a mask in the story line. When Lewa got infected with one of those infected masks, he became kinda evil. So maybe if a toa or matoran wears the mask of light, it's like the opposite.

I think Takanuva and the Toa Of Light are 2 separate entities. Just my 2 cents.

i'm with Monolyth but do think that Takanuva and The Toa of Light may meet in MoL

I think TakaNuva is Taku transformed into some other entity than a Toa,but something in between a Toa and Turaga(or something like that).I think there will be NO Toa Of Light but I think TakaNuva will be the 'chosen one' to use the MoL.

It's Takanuva...not TakaNuva...you may not think so, but it could make a HUGE difference.

I'm starting to think that Takanuva and Takua aren't the same guy. Sure they have the same Voice Actor...but that happens in a lot of animated shows.

I gathered from Tufi Piyufi's thread that Takanuva was Takua Nuva(or whoever is the Toa of Light)'s mount.

takanuva is a matoran that got the mask of light and placed it on. Its effect transformed him to a nuva I think.

Yup. I'd say that Takanuva is Takua and he got transformed into a toa.
He has a nack for traveling and saving villages... for risking his life to save the lives of other matorans... for fighting rahi and borhok... for helping the toa, and more.
