Full Version: Noble Masks
do the toa nuva still have the powers of the noble masks? and back to the toa olda, where did they get them from?
I do not believe so, when they went into the Protodermis their masks lost their Powers but their original power was strengthened, so if this is the truth then they would have lost use of all their Noble masks

I don't think that the Toa, have noble mask powers any more, they don't need them since they are so powerful now
I believe those powers are lost... It didn't stop me from using them in one of my epics, though. 
It's a shame, really, I wondered how Noble Nuva masks would look like. Pretty cool, in my opinion, especially the Huna. Man, that would've kicked.

yeah i think the noble masks are gone. If not then they should still have old kanohi powers.

The Toa Nuva never really possessed the Noble Masks power.
The storyline kinda glazed over that part of the whole thing....so we really don't know where they got them...what happened to them.
As far as I can tell...the Toa simply "borrowed" them from the Turaga...and gave them back before going after Makuta...

But if they just borrowed the masks how come when Onua was helping Lewa out in that Nui-Rama nest,
was their and Onua or Lewa... wore that mask

They were just mysteries. Nobody knows where they came from. If the villagers had made them, then there would probably be variations of each mask. Thats what I thought when I saw the variation between the Ruru and the Pakari, worn by anyone with a Ruru or Pakari. Though the more important characters had a definite Ruru or Pakari.
I think the Pakari/Ruru mixup was actually a slip on an the animator's part. They most likely were given rough sketches (so that they could be done at the same time as the story writers) and had trouble telling between the Pakari and Ruru.
I hope that we weren't supposed to read into that mistake...cause I really hate having to do that.

Just cause the Toa are powerful, dosn't mean they wouldn't need em'. I mean invisability, or mind control would come in really handy when battling the Kal.

On bionicle.com it says that the Toa had to collect all of the Kanohi and the Noble Masks of Power, although I don't see how it did them much good to collect the Noble Masks. Also, the Toa Nuva lost the Noble Masks' power in the protodermis along with all the other masks except their own.
I agree that translation and night vision are pretty much useless, but can you honestly say you don't want to become invisable or have telekinieses, mind control or illusion. I'd love to have just one of those.

No, bionicle.com says they find there own noble masks.
My theory for why they lost all mask powers except their own is:
The toa are now forced to work together. they NEED each other. I believe they'll see that soon now that theyve split.
As for the noble masks, i havent a clue. the story never really covered that, did it?

I agree, they don't need them. besides, they hardly ever use them in the stroyline.

Errrr... If you look at the turaga bio, you can see they have no only their mask, it also have other noble mask! What I thinks is before the Toa came, the Turaga already have them, and borrowed it to Toa to help them, until the fight of Bahrag.(Reason: I see Pohatu use
when rescued Hafu.
I think that the powers of the Noble Kanohi were lost to the toa...but since the Turaga are not Nuva, that they can still use them. I think the Toa helped the Turaga by collecting their Kanohi for them, and in return the Turaga let them use them as seen in some of the MNOLG Movies.
I agree that the Toa had to find the noble masks as well. I don't think they borrowed them from the Turaga, as they have often used them when the Turaga were not present (Kopaka fighting the Muaka in the MNOLG, for example). I think the Toa have now lost them because of their Nuva transformation. And they may never get them back! But the Turaga still have them, possibly. This would be a good question for GregF, if we ever get to do that again... hint, hint...
