I been thinking about the Matoran a lot and I started to wonder if they are born and grow or what. I think they are born or maybe when (and if) they die their parts are reused to make new matoran. What do you think?

I think that they Have to Be created like we have to.

Lol, this is one weird topic! Matoran babies? Ok, I don't think we are ever going to find out. It's not going to be one of the questions answered in the MoL, or Online Episodes... or books, or the CCG. Think, guys, when Lego made the Matoran, I bet they didn't even think: 'Yeah, the design is nice and all but how would they reproduce?'.
We are taking this too seriously. Mata-Nui is a fantasy world, it is not real!
But for theroies, I say it has something to do with Protodermis. I would say Mata-Nui, but the Matoran were there before Mata-Nui, and Makuta.

Well, I did some digging, and found the original topic (among others of this kind, of course) I remembered, and it had a couple of different views. It's a while old, but here it is: Link
I'll just state my theory once again: I believe they are created, and only die when killed by natural disasters and evil creatures.
