Think about it. Makuta, Mata Nui's brother (oh, I'm sure we didn't know that) fianlly gains a physical form (other than a Matoran) this year. Shouldn't Mata Nui get the same treatment? My first thought when I saw the ToL was that (and I'm not using this in a religious way) he looked like an angel. You know, all white and gold? His mask looks a bit non-angelic, but he still seems pretty supreme. Couldn't the ToL be Mata Nui?

Mata-Nui will not appear until the end of the saga, the Toa of Light is (we think) Takua.

It shows the Toa of Light on the BZpower homepage. it's under Bionicle 2003: Better set pictures, pricing, realease dates. I just thought I'd help out.
Takua will become the toa of light in the Mol movie altought where takua came from is a mistery he could be a small form of mata-nui or he could be just a matoran it is a mistery.
It seems possible. While most people believe and are hoping (myself included) that Takua is the ToL it has not yet been confirmed. I beileve that GregF said that Takanuva is the ToL but gods can go by many names. So in all possibility the ToL could be Mata Nui

IT IS PROVEN THAT IS INCORRECT. Not to sound mean, just state a point.
In fact, GregF said that there are no plans to wake Mata-Nui between now and 2005.
And the movies both take place in that period. So no.
SuperCowNuva has a point we shouldn't shove down his stomachs. It makes sense we are thinking of other possible people the TOL could be. Maybe Mata-Nui's apprentice...

All right. stop saying stuff in a I-Know-All manner unless you really know, no doubts whatsoever. anyway, there is a chance that the Toa of Light may not do anything more then do something with his mask so we don't really know who he is.
Mata-Nui, Makutas brother, has been put to sleep for countless years. The ToL is possibly Takua or when Takua and friends got the Mask of Light. But it is possible that Mata-Nui is him.

Takanuva could have his power connected to Mata-Nui in some way...but he's not Mata-Nui.
I believe Greg has said on more than one occasion that there are currently no plans to wake Mata-Nui in the near future.

no toa of light is not mata nui one member sayd that hes dad(maybe wrong) was working in the mask of light movie and toa of light is all the toa nuva combined together! its awesome!
The Seventh Toa is not Mata Nui, nor is he all six Toa Nuva put together.

And man how many years till we 'll see Mata-Nui I'm waitnig to see that guy from the first time I heard about Bionicle. There were some moments that I thought '' now he's going to come'' and it didn't happen it makes me so sad

see, but his theory is valid, cause what's there to stop Mata Nui from comin in for a visit to his island and saving his "childen" the Toa Nuva? NOTHING! And if it turns out to be a Tohunga named Huni is Takanuva...well, then I had NOTHING to do with it

we? Nah, Takanuva is just Takanuva. There will a search by the Rahkshi, followed by the Nuvas when they find out about the "long lost brother/sister" that Makuta wants destroyed, and then they find him in a Canister, still unbuilt. The Toa then build him, then Takua finds him his mask, fallen seperately so Makuta can't capture both, which fell in the form of a Rock, which Takua melts, gives to Vakama, Nokama, and Onewa(sp?) who then read the Mata Nuian writing (I've studied the language, so I could translate it when I get a better pic of it) and then give it to Takanuva. This is my theory, and I had a theory about Mata Nui being Takanuva, but then where would that leave us? Lost in the final battle of Makuta vs Mata Nui
