That's all Greg said. He probably said that simply because he's not sure yet, and doesn't want to rule any plot twists out. More than likely, a Toa will not die.

I don't think any Toa will die this year at least, maybe there were rumours of it in one of the other "books" he was talking about. if any were to die I think it would be Lewa, since he allways seems to get cayght by the enemy, or someone will sacrifice themselves to save Mata Nui

it'd be Kopaka, in the context of one of them sacrificing themselves, IMO at least. He is so cold(fun with puns), and he seems to almost be at the root of anything tha's kinda unhappy with the group, so he would be the one I would suspect to sacrifice himself, as a "this is all I can do" sorta things...

but if one dies, I doubt it will be anytime soon... but we can always hope o.~

dont worry mebey(sp?) they bring him back somehow.(its very unlikely but hey ya never know!)

I'm guessing that maybe the Toa Nuva will die in the future and then maybe a new batch of Toa will come. I would think that the Toa that would die first would be Tahu, because he is the leader and it would be very hard without him. The second would probably be Lewa because he's always getting himself into trouble. Krana and Infected Kanohi, he always gets them.

Uh, sorry, Kopaka Nuva is going to be the one to die. Earlier today I got a newer Proto Squad package and it included CGI Pictures of Kopaka Nuva being killed and Takua Nuva to take his place. The Bahrag were freed by the Kal and a huge war broke out! It looks awsome! New creatures! The Bahrag were killed, the Kal transformed back into Bohrok and the the Bahrag started transforming into six other creatures, THE RAHKSHI!

I hope he's just saying that to build a little suspense. If we think the Toa are invincible, we might not be afraid enough when they get into danger.

Personally, I doubt if LEGO would do that to its fans... whoever died, there would be a BIG group of unhappy little kids whose favorite Toa it was. Unless they come up with a clever way to bring him (her) back right away, like in the SAME comic, so that no one will be in anguish over it for very long.

But its kinda cheey when the Toa defeat like 5 Bad-guys, and none of them die!

I hope it's not Onua , But you can't chance it so easily from, 'Six Heros One Destiny' to 'to Seven Heros One Destiny!' I guess they want to keep it on 6, so one actualy must die if they want that, or maybe takauva get's back from where he came from.

It would make sense if one of them died, You can't hav a good story if a hero doesn't get hurt.

The Toa do have weapons, they can be called "tools" but that doesn't mean they're not weapons. How can a toy be rated G? The Bionicle stuff we're talking about isn't a movie. You were saying Bionicle is for 7 year olds, then why would they bring someone back to life with a spell? That doesn't sound like something LEGO would do, and it doesn't sound like something for 7 year olds, either. You guys shouldn't get so excited, no Toa are going to die any time soon, in my opinion. As Greg said, they aren't even a 7th through the the storyline yet, they wouldn't make a Toa die so early.

It was bound to happen, and personally-I think it will be Tahu.

I have nothing against Tahu at all! Trust me! But I think that some time around the movie this year or next year, Gali and Tahu will fall in love-and Tahu will sacrifice himself to save her in some sort of way.

I think if anyone dies, it would be Tahu, cos he's the leader and usually it's the leader who dies in an epic, at least from I've seen. Take an old Transformers movies,(REALLY old, one of my bros had it when he was around my age and he's 19 this Feb) Optimus Prime dies

I was waiting to find this topic. GregF certainly did create one heck of a buzz...didn't he.

It's certainly an interesting concept. Could LEGO kill off a character in a story designed for young children? And if so...how could they do it so that it isn't weird for the younger fans?

Answer: A sacrifice. The Toa who dies will sacrifice himself to save the others.


Right now...I'm at a tossup. Most likely, it will be either Tahu or Kopaka. Tahu is the leader...and thusly would be the one most likely to give his life to save the others. He's their leader...and as such, would be willing to do anything to protect them, even if it means giving his own.

However...let's look at the other angle. Kopaka is a cold guy...and doesn't have the group dynamic of the other Toa. However....say a situation comes in which one Toa has to go. Tahu volunteers to be the one, but Kopaka hold him back.

Kopaka is a true warrior...and as such knows that he must be willing to defend his group to the end. Also, he recognizes that Tahu is the leader, and as such is needed to lead the group. Without Tahu, the Toa would be out a leader. Thusly, Kopaka would tell Tahu to go...and would be the one to give himself.

Either way...it's pretty heavy. But if LEGO pulls it off...it could take Bionicle to the level of Beast Wars and the G1 Transformers...where characters were lost along the way.

It would certainly bring a new maturity to the saga.

remember, there are three matoran that each play one of the lead roles in the MoL.
they will probably find the mask of light and put it on.
then they wil change in the toa of light.
(and i think i allready know to of the names: jala and takua, because they are two matorans that apear again in a set, but completely rebuilt)
the toa of light wil help the toa in their fight.
if the fight is over, the toa of light will change back in three tohunga.
so the toa of light is "just temporary".
and the mask of light is an anciënt mask from the "time before time", created by mata nui(the spirit), to help the toa in a "time of darkness".

I heard a rumor that said that Tahu sacrafices himself to save the toa against the Rahkshi and Takunuva comes to the fighting area and puts on his MoL and becomes the Toa of Light which destroys him with his Holy Magic.


I don't beleve it and I think The Toa of Lights mask gets destroyed in the Mol Movie and it cannot be fixed and then he reverts to the form that he was before the fight. He could just mean they lose their toa powers and becomes something else.

here is my theory:

tahu dies early in the film, then, takua must quest for the mask of light in order to bring him
back. he finds the mask, fuses with tahu's remains(parts for lack of a better word) and becomes takanuva for a
short while. makuta is defeated, and they separate. tahu is revitalized and takua finds out he is mata-nui. takua
wishes to be a real matoran and mata-nui's subconcious separates from him. everyone is happy and the makuta
plans revenge in the dark of his decimated cave.

as was stated before they cannot kill a character in the storyline...But what also confused me is that Greg F said a while ago that there will be no new toa or toa evolutions...so whats up with the TOA of light? lol. Thats off-topic sorry...But yeah if they killed one of the Toa then there'd but a bunch of unhappy kids who would no longer want to be interested in Bionicle because their favorite toa has been eliminated thus lego would lose hundreds of dollars which wouldnt ruin them but it would hurt them I'm sure... I really don't think any Bionicle characters will die permanently. Joann (sp?) Rowling pulled off a death in her fourth book, but that situation was different. The Harry Potter series matures over time as the protagonist grows up, but Bionicle will probably not do the same. The Bionicle characters certainly change over time, but the story will always be aimed at roughly the same age group throughout. It's the only way for Bionicle to remain profitable. (Child fans may have less money to spend, but there are way more of them than AFOLs.) In order to remain parent-friendly, Bionicle must keep mature material, such as death, outside of its scope.

Maybe no one will save Kopaka from his 2-month fall... If Kopaka dies, I think I may lose interest in Bionicle, or it will be greatly hindered (no, I'm not kidding). But if a Toa dies, maybe Takanuva will take their place, and defend the extra village... It might be either Kopaka, Gali, or Lewa (I don't know why, but they're my three favorite in that order) if a Toa dies. Lewa gets into a lot of trouble, and because of their partings, Onua may not be there to help him. And Gali and Kopaka seem so noble to sacrifice themselves to help another.
