I was wondering how long they have been under ground?

The Bahrag have been here forever. Just waiting for the Bohrok to be released.

the bahrag have been here since before mata-nui. they are a sort of living gods. they slowly spread thier seeds which grew into bohrok and one out of each species grew a sort of albino version, stronger, faster, more agile and intelligent with unfathomable power. these are the kal. the bahrag released the kal to wage war on both mata-nui and makuta.

Let me clarify a couple of things.
The bahrag have been ungerground sice the "Before Time".
Secondly there is nothing that says they spread seeds. {where did you hear that?} The bohrok have existed since the before time.
And the bahrag did not release the kal. They released themselves. At that time the bahrag were and still trapped in the proto cage. The kal are kinda like the bahrags inscurence plan. In the {highly unlikely} situation that the bahrag were defeated the kal would awake and save them. The kal weren't released to fight makuta, they released themselves because the bahrag were defeated.

The story-line is before time.It says in the mol trailer.

The before time was even before Makuta, if that's whaqt you are asking. I read that in one of GregF's Answer Sessions a while ago when someone asked him when the before time was and he said he wasn't sure but "It almost definitely predates Makuta."


If we are talking in years then I would say 100+ because they are "biomechanical" and machines can last for a lot longer than any biological creature.

The Bahrag would have had to have been here in the 'before time,' because that's what they want to restore Mata Nui to. Unless they've been programmed by someone else...

The Bahrag and Bohrok have been here since the Tohunga,probably even their pets,and anyway,they and Makuta 'll never work together.GregF has confirmed!

In BFMN the Bohtrok spred seeds and they turn into bothrok but you can wipe them with a MS

Most likely before Mata Nui, But definetley before the Matoran( not cpunting the Turaga)

if that is true there are two bad guys. I always thought that the bahrag were maid by makuta
