i asked greg f this question: will the toa eventually be transformed into something relative to a turaga and he said:

so does this mean the toa will transform and does it mean that the turaga once a toa????
Perhaps... perhaps not. Greg is delightfully vague in his explanations, as to not give too much away and spoil everything. Perhaps the Toa will become great spirits and new Toa will arrive.
But Greg's in the Theories forum right now, so we may get answers sooner than we think, fingers crossed.
