take the nuva mini comic, and look at the scene where you see them all on the platforms in the tubes. now picture a nuva canister(lid on)upside-down with no stickers. look familiar? the lid is the platform upside down!

I don't think so because that wouldn't explain why the top looks the way it does with all those holes in it.

Could be why. I always thought it was their suva.

It makes sense. Maybe the design on the top locks into something bigger.

I don't know about their patterns, but you can tell from the ridges on the side.

It's not their suvas, and the two top holes are fore their weapons. It's the panel after they sink into the ground.

Here you go: Comic 9 Suva. I'm sure the comic version would be accurate, and no, it's not my Brickshelf, and if the owner TrueFear opposes the fact that I made a link to it, I'll remove and upload a pic myself.

What pattern?
Frakly, most of the replys here don't make any sence to me.
Heres what I know.
The original can tops were the survas. At least, that's the purpose for the sets, I think. There's room for six masks, and a face to put on a seventh mask.
The ew lid still has the six holes, but the face has been chaged to two of those rigged pole holes, and a round hole. Mayb for two more masks, maybe for their weapons, maybe even for their symbol (doughtful).
Okay, I hope I made a bit of sence.

I think you're right! And yes, there is a pattern.
First, the toa canisters are their pods that land on Mata Nui.
Then the Bohrok cans are their pods( you have to turn it up-side down to see the cell membrane that resembles the tops on the nests).
then the Toa Nuva have another set of arrival pods! Their nuva cans. Those are probably the 'buckets' in the protodermis 'well'( it dunks them, letting stuff in, but not out).
It makes perfect sense!

I see the pattern, but what use do the Nuva lids have after the Protodermis dunking?
