A realization hit me yesterday and it is based on this question: Why did Makuta put Matanui to sleep?

I thinbk I way havwe the answer!
Matanui is a spirit and therefore can not be killed, but he can still be put to sleep for a long time of inactivitey! therefore the Question of Will the toa kill Makuta? Is null and void... Like his brother the toa may not be able to Kill him, But they can still put him into a deep sleep...Like what Matanui is in at present!

Who's they, quake-breaker570? I haven't seen anything stating that. The ToL will defeat Makuta. I believe that since Makuta can't be killed, he will be driven off Mata-nui or sent back to where he came from (the sky, or where ever the Great Beings dwell).

Mata-Nui can't be killed. Same thing with Makuta. I think they will put Makuta to sleep at the end of mol movie or end of first book. They will wake up Mata-Nui somehow later.

Well I agree about Mata-Nui and Makuta being Immortal dieties and if they truly are immortal that theory makes sense.
And about what you said about the toa defeating Makuta maybe they are like the elves{from the lord of the rings}, that they are immortal and will not die unless they are if attacked.
