Full Version: The Side Effects Of Vahi

I have a theory about the Vahi mask of time, and some of the negative effects using it may produce.
I once read a science fiction story, whose name, author, and details I will not mention, for fear of copyright laws. Suffice to say that in this story, a man goes back in time, to the age of the dinosaurs. While in this era, he accidentally treads on a butterfly, killing it. When he returns to his own time, he discovers that the death of this mere insect has drastically changed the present, perhaps dooming mankind.
Anyway, the point of this whole story is to say that one tiny change in the past can drastically affect the future. Perhaps such a reaction will be triggered on Mata-Nui when Tahu Nuva uses his Vahi. However he chooses to alter time, whether slowing it down or going back or forward, he may find something has gone horribly wrong when he sets things right again. This might explain the new Matoran design, plus the appearance of the Rahkshi. Maybe the Rahkshi are mutations of some past form of life on mata-Nui, be it Matoran, Rahi, Bohrok, or even (gasp!) the Turaga!
As for Makuta, perhaps such a time warp might explain why he will soon be alive and kicking after previously being reduced to rubble by the Toa.

The vahi cannot move back in time. The Rahkshi are not mutated from something else. And Makuta was only testing the toa, he was not reduced to rubble. He just retreated so he could build more power. Greg put it
QUOTE
Time is an awsome force, and if he used it wrong or had trouble controling it, he could warp reality beyond repair.
And I do not know how many times he has said that it cannot time travel.

What he said, along with something we've gone over numerous times. The new Matoran forms are not something in the story. It's how they were supposed to be at first but McDonalds screwed them over (is that a bad phrase?, cause it don't sound right) and now they're going to make them how they were supposed to be. Just pretend they were always that way. biggrin.gif

Well, I'm sorry. I was merely putting forth a theory. I do not keep up with every detail in the Bionicle saga, so my interpretation of Bionicle is sorely out of date. I know that you're entitled to your opinion, but the tone of your message to me seems to be "You're wrong, you are an idiot for even considering such a thing". Anyway, if I'm wrong and everyone's going to look down their noses at me because of it, there's no longer any use for this topic. Someone please close it.

Thats a very good theory, sounds a lot like the "chaos theory", too bad we know that the vahi can't go through time.
Obviously the vahi is one of those things that grants amazing powers but at a drastic cost.

THANK you, KA, for your non-aggressive response. By the by, will someone please close this topic? The fact that the Vahi cannot travel back in time puts a gaping hole in my theory, and the topic is therefore useless.

Well good theory but say slowing down time it may stay like that for ever.......................

If I recall correctly GregF the change would be explained in a upcoming comic...
but nice theory i wish it would happen... could you PM me the name of that book too? It sounds like my kind of book...

Don't worry about it, MT. There's so much happening with Bionicle right now, and it's easy to miss something.
