[COLOR=blue]I was thinking that maybe the Toa,before they came to Mata-Nui,were great beings before they arrived on the island.Cause in the legend of mata-nui,it says that the great beings SENT down six mighty HEROES.Maybe they were like the warriors for the great beings.But I'm not sure.Post what you think here.

I think that they might have been created when they were thrown at as pieces on Mata-Nui then had some system that put them together then they were born. I don't think they were alive before that because they didn't know what they were there for. If they came from the heavens then everyone there would probably have told them what to do.

They were a part of Mata Nui! Since Mata Nui had the island named after him, and he ruled it, its elements were his. The Toa were the embodiments of Mata Nui's elements. They must have escaped just before Makuta put Mata Nui to sleep.

GregF said he couldn't reveal where the toa were before they arrived on our fave island. They may have been on another island, collecting their powers, just like Pakari570 said.

Well, heres my personal theorie: The toa Are like the Rahkashi....They are part of mata-nui, but have been around in "paridise" for somtime....Wich makes you think...Is "paridise" another planet? after all...They came in odd tubes?

Hey, I just got a weird idea. Paradise is probably sort-of like heaven,
right? You know, that "perfect, holy place where the 'top dogs' are"
in every storyline. It popped in my head, they were sent down from
Paradise, like angels or something.
So, the question should be, where were the Toa before they arrived?
Because, you know, they are just Toa. Always.

Maybe they were themselves, just on a different place. Getting prepped up for their "mission"

I agree, KN1990, but I think they could have been six Matorans wandering about who found the Protodermis tubes, fell in, got made into Toa and then the tubes shot them out from the sky and they fell into pieces and then constructed themselves. But that's just one of my weird ideas.

oh not to wierd...In a wierd twisted way I think there was soem evil involved in the making the toa and that they weren't supposer to be...

I believe they were in Paradise (heaven), getting ready for their quest. Ever wonder where Tahu got his sword. Read my epic.

Mabye the Toa were in the Toa Stones! Or something like that.

I believe that the Great Beings made the Toa summoning mechanism and then put the instructions into Takua's head before they started making the Toa, so that when they were finished, they sent some kind of mental call to Takua, which activated the program inside his subconscious, which made him go out and collect the Toa stones with no one the wiser.

Yes, I know, it's far-fetched, but think about it before you flame me.

i beleive they were in paradise,but they were akamai and wairuha ,to great warriors .then thy are sent to mata nui.they forget there past. they are toa now.and whenever the y go kaita,a tiny bit of theere memory returns

I think they were like Champions for the Great Beings, dwelers in the heavens and obtained thier powers in Paradise, and became masters of the elements. Kind of like Gandalf and the other Wizards, Emisaries from the gods to warn evil.When they were sent down, however, they forgot much .

No past, I think they had a past........and here is some proof.
I the comic book, I forget witch one, Kopaka fist crashes on the island, and starts rebuilding hiself. In the middle of Rebuilding stage he said that his dreams had been crouded. Tell me how a new born would have dreams and he had more that one becuase dreams is plural.

Probably just the Toa, fighting in wars, dosed with amnesia, and sent down. Or they were created right before the were sent down.

Well, I don't know about everyone else, but when I play with bionicles, I pretend that they dwelled in paradise as Great Beings. Then, they where made bodies(they were souls) and the body parts were put in a canister and when they put themselves in the bodies, the forgot everything. You'll notice Kopaka said, "It is like the tale in my dreams. Or close to it." I bet they remember everything from dreams!!!

PS: And if they weren't already Great Beings, how did the elements on Mata-Nui(island) still work if Mata-Nui(person) had fallen into a eternal sleep? And how do the toa suddenly have their elemental powers?
