Full Version: The Terror Of "ra"…

I was thinking the other day, and man, did it hurt! Okay, it didn't, but this is what I thought of.
We know that Makuta's mask is Kraahkan. I don't know from where, but we do. I suddenly realized a pattern. Think about these:

  • Rahkshi
  • Kraata
  • Krana
  • Rahi
  • Kraahkan
  • Bahrag

Now, all of those seem to be a threat to Mata Nui, and they all hold one thing in common: "ra". Now, if we went into Egyptian mythology, we'd find that all of these were referring to Ra, the Sun God, but we aren't. This could be a coincidence, but I don't think so. Post your ideas!

EDIT: Oh, I'm so sorry! This should be in Storyline & Theories, shouldn't it? I'll ask it to be moved immediately.

Hmm... Turaga are not bad guys, I think it must be a coincedence. I don't know if this counts, but Ussal crabs aren't evil either.

Some how I think that it is just a coinceidence. After all, things with Ra usually sound cooler as evil names. But you may be on to something. Just don't go into the whole Mythology thing. Lego got in trouble with the Maori becuase of their in common words. And we found out the name of the Kraahkan from GregF.

Wow I never noticed that before, but there are some good guys that have ra. Nice find though.

I think it just sounds cool with RA in it. Or just coincidence

Are you Jewish? If not, do you study Hebrew? If so, than you would know that "ra" is a Hebrew word for "bad". An odd coincidence.

pohatufan1
How 'bout Kane-ra? Or Nui-Rama? Pahrak? Kohrak? All the Rahkshi have ra in their individual names too.
HUKI365
Weird! never thought of that before, but as I always say, I don't think there is much in it!
Killer Toa03
MatoRAn, they r not evil. THat is a very interesting observation though!
MIB/July4
you know some thing ra in hebrew is bad good find it's spelled like this øò
Alec
Very intresting observation, but turaga arnt evil I gess it's just because in hebrew it means evil.
-Wg-
I think that this might start another lawsuit like the maori thing. but as I said before just plain coincidence.

Rahkshi...it's similar to a word in my language called Rahkshas. Rahkshas means demon, and the Rahkshi are evil.....

But about Silverakaku...
How about Krana, Kane-Ra, Nui-Rama, yeah, you get it.
Rangi42
Maybe it's the Hebrew word for bad, like some people (no one other than me is an alien, right?)said, but Turaga, Matoran, Kapura, and other good guys have ra in them. I think it's just a common sound in Maori, and sounds Bionicleish, so Lego made many names with ra.
Timoteo
They used it probably because it sounds cool, because it does... can you imagine Terhaga? It also make purnounciation easier. I seriously doubt that this has anything to do with the Storyline, or anything like that.

Hey, it seems all but the toa/nuva have ra. I don't really know why, maybe just a coincidence skk.gif
MKN
That's probobly just a coincedence. Anyway it does mean bad or evil in hebrew also it could mean something in denmarkish because that's where LEGO is anyway
Huta
I think it gives an island feel to the words. I had a topic about the letter A, that is in almost every BIONICLE word.

BTW, Nui Rama.
