Its an interesting point Kyron. Something else to add to the confusion is when Makuta talks about him being nothing.

If you somehow manage to destroy Nothing, what are you left with? Quite simply, you are left with nothing. You have not succeeded.

One way of getting rid of Nothing could be to put Something in its place. I believe that this 'something' is light.

Darkness is simply a lack of light. But Light is not a lack of darkness. So Takanuva must fill the void of Shadow with light in order to defeat it.

And yes you are wierd. biggrin.gif

Why thank you....

on-topic: Yes the very concept of him being nothing is mind blowing....He is nothing...which makles him something...but that something is nothing there fore we have a circle of thought...you destroy nothing you get nothing...You destroy nothing by making it something.... but there is no absoulute...no such thingas void all is in flux...I am the void....I carried you...We are all but one mans dream an should that man awake we would be like so much smoke in the wind...but if the dreamer dreams of a dreamer dreaming of us are we not just dreaming a dream of the dreamer dreaming the dreamer dreaming a dream... so the question which came first the chiken or the egg is void but there is no void so it was ....Umm what was the subject agian?

In a recent topic, GregF pointed out that people take what Makuta says too seriously. He's very evil, how do we know he's being honest when he says he is nothing, or in anything else he says, for that matter. He may have simply been taunting the Toa.

And, what does he mean by nothing, anyways? Let's just assume for a second that he's serious. If by "nothing" he means that he is not made out of matter, he still exists in a spirit or energy form, which can be destroyed, though not easily. If he's using the broadest definition, that he is nonexistent, well, he obviously exists, so how can he be nonexistent?

About your theory, if it were true, yeah, that'd complicate things a little. But what if he were only defeated beyond recovery, but not destroyed?

But, really, why should that be true? They're brothers, not the same person; it seems that they are separate. I'm not saying you're wrong for sure, but it just doesn't seem likely.

Edit: Alright, here's the link to what GregF said. It's the eighth post on that page.

An interesting thought, but maybe Mata-Nui's asleep to give it a story. If he was dead, who would the Toa try and awake? Elvis? The Necrons? Who knows?
