I think BIONICLE is the Name of the Legend of Mata Nui.

Well, if that is right, "the Bionicle" could mean the whole story of Mata Nui, which could explain the pre-Toa events!

About the translation, I wouldn't reccomend sounding so sure about it, many people have tried and failed to translate it totally. I'm not one of them, though, so I wouldn't know.

So, yes, it is something within the Bionicle world; it's the legends (and chronicles, from what I understand). It's nothing big.

bionicle is the chronicles of the events on mata nui, including prophecies about the future. if you look under "chronicle" and "mata nui" on bionicle.com, it says:

I though Bionicle was the name of the ledgend about the Toa- and Lego liked it so it became the product name!

Maybe Bionicle is was/a person/spirit/ancient warrior? Or maybe Bionicle is like the " heaven " of the whole thing. Or maybe Bionicle is the the most powerful " spirit/god" who created everything? Or maybe its a ledgend? Or maybe its the defeat of Makuta? Sorry if the " or maybe " thing was annoying. i wasnt trying to be.
