We thought Makuta grew the kratta in those tubes. GregF said that the kratta were pulled out of Makuta himself. Then what are those tubes for? The tubes must be for evolving the rahkshi, eh. Makuta puts the kratta in those tubes and they are full of protodermis. He has those tubes to create rahkshi. Any thoughts?

That's a good theory... but try not to do two topics that are the same. Anyway, that's pretty likely. I bet that's why he does it!

They arent pulled from makuta they are apart of him they are his very substance.
Who told you that he grows Kraata?
Cause whever did needs to get a reality check.
I believe the tubes are to house the rahkshi untill they are completely evolved.
You know it does take time to evolve. Makuta could have put the kraata in the proto then let them swim for a while then took them out and put them in the tubes until they are fully evolved.

that might be the reason, after all, every type pf canister or pod has something to do with the story

He doesn't grow Kraata. He pulls them out of himself. And we know that the Canisters housed the rahkshi until they were ready to be unleashed. It seems as if they were filled with proto and Kraata were put it. Just look at the end of comic #12 and you will see that they have just broken out.

yea, it could be right either way. i think that they were already full of Proto until they were ready, the proto might have been drained before they were released.

Setting aside where hte Kraata came from, I reckon that's a good Idea having the Kraata grow into Rahkshi in the tubes.
Off-topic: Notice how the Toa, Nuva, Rahkshi, in the story they build themselves...

When I saw your topic title, that's the first thing I thought.
Of course when we saw the video we didn't know what was going on. But now that we know that it IS Protodermis that turns a Kraata into a Rahkshi, then we can probably safely say that Makuta does in fact fill those tubes with Protodermis.
Now, what would happen if Makuta himself were to go for a swim in it? Or is that how he got like that in the first place?

He reproduces them. He pulls them off then puts them in the tubes for storing them. Makuta doesn't walk around with Kraata dangling everywhere. When he decides he needs one, he makes one and pulls it off of himself.

Produced. It should be 'produced', not 'reproduced', reproduction means between two of the same speices, and Makuta isn't a Kratta.
IMHO, the Great Beings control the protodermis, so if is isn't your destiny, you will either drown or climb back out same as your were before.
