I think it was just easier than molding an entirely new color. and purple on black is a wicked color combo!

Na'h, I'm just kidding. Nice theory, but I think they only did that to improve his overall look, I dont think he is a spy for Makuta. I could guess why you figured that..

Although I do agree that his mask is the same as Nui-Jaga's.

Eh...No? I think you've been reading Torhu's Te Mutunga a bit, haven't you? No, Onepu is a good old Matoran. The masks are the same for...Crazy LEGO reasons.
