i htought that protodermis was supposed to enhance the toas bodies but instead it made Onua's arms smaller.
HE CAN'T EVEN TOUCH HIS TOES!

Your right!!!!!!!!!!They should have made his arms eaver(sp?)longer or created a different arm desine.

MoT, I think you meant Even longer. Yes, bohrok arms are sort of a let down as he can't use my staff, hammers properly

They may be smaller but they are ment to be stronger. They doo look buf to me. With thos long chine saws how long of an arm does he need?

ok to stay on topic; i think i might replace his little arms with onua olda's legs because the arms he has are just rediculous!

May 28 2003, 07:41 AM
I like the new arms that he has. They look very big and make him look stronger than before and that is what the protodermis does. It enhances them to become stronger. Personally. I like them. He doesnt look skinny.

I think the reason is that the quake breakers are so big.

but imagine coming out of a pool of silver to find you have the arms of your enemy.
oh yeh and the nuva weapons are all the same size
(i'm surprised that his arms can hold the quake-breakers)
Ex-Mage
May 28 2003, 08:26 AM
Well, his arms may be short, but this implies that they are compact, and durable. Stubby, of course, but the wide middles are meant to imply muscle, since his original strength was primarily in his arms.
Also, due to that previously explained muscle factor, he could most definitely hold the quake breakers. Especially since protodermis is a very light metal.
...Or at least, that's what I've heard. Even if it ISN'T light, he can still hold them because of his strong arms.
So, the short arms are meant to look:
a. strong
b. durable
It's of course, up to you how well this piece pulls it off.

May 28 2003, 08:49 AM
Yes, the arms are a constant pain. They are so short and they don't work well with onua's weapons. I despise those short arms...

I kind think they make him look buff (is that the word I wanted?)
If you put them out to the sides, or just straight out, it looks like he's flexing. Kinda a cool pose if I do say so.

The protodermis emphasized each Toa's build. Onua's stocky and strong, and the short muscular arms reflect that.

May 28 2003, 02:01 PM
I agree with T-Hybrid. Onua Nuva looks good the way he is. Short and stocky, it gives him more appearance as a stronger, enhanced Toa. At least this is what I think.
Purple Pohatu
May 28 2003, 02:14 PM
I think they make him look muscular. Also, Lego didn't want to make him look too hunchbacked. I mean, if he had normal arms, they'd probably drag on the ground.

I agree, His quake breakers are huge, so he would look and pose much better with smaller arms.
I don't mind him having those arms and I got used to it anyway.

Perhaps, but I don't think lego would adjust a Toa just for the kaita.
Since the set is based on the Toa.
I still think it has to do with his weapons and maybe to make him look more muscular.

I think he has small arm's because he would like bizzar with larg arm's and I think its good to have small arm's if you are a guy like him, a guy that digs a lot.
Kappa
May 28 2003, 04:49 PM
Yah, I thought that was pretty wierd, I mean, he can't be as agile with his arms, and they just don't look right on him. He does look sort of wierd when you put his arms towards his chest for storage and all. But, with his head being short, I guess Lego decided to give him short arms.

I guess that they are smaller to accomidate his humungo-huge chainsaws. If his arms were any longer, then whenever you swung his arms, they would get all mixed up or something. It may just be because a master designer person thought that it looked good, too.

daz36 is right. Having the arms of your enemy is scary.

Same thing I was going to say. I think he looks good with those arms. Yes proto-metal is very light. Maybe lego will make his arms look better in the movie. Just like they did to pohatu. - thunder

He can't punch with those two puny arms! But he makes it up with chain saws. That's acceptable, right?
Rahkshi Hybrid
May 28 2003, 06:09 PM
daz36 I made a topic simalar to this a LONG while back (well it seems that way since the rahkishi have come) and the two over all responces wher that onua nuvas arms are:now make it easer for him to move around in tunnels and is since he hase massive chain saws they would be really hard to move around under ground the next point was that he is always under ground almost so he dont need longer arms then he hase now i mean he dosnt swing from trees like lewa or swim like gali. Oh and tahunuva I think onua nuvas arms could be very strong i mean T rex could lift up to 150lbs with one arm(at least thats what Natrul Geographic says)
hope I helped daz36

His weapons are much longer and I believe they help him dig better than his short claws long arms. Length isn't always everything, at least look at the muscle in the middle.

I actually like the little arms. They look kinda cute

. Besides when you have giant chainsaw things that you can ride, then what do you need longer arms for? Onua Olda had long arms to be like everyone else and because he had only claws. Now I think it looks better with short arms but HUGE Chainsaw things.

Onua Nuva was the first Nuva I got and my favorite. But before, after and now, I still wonder why he has small arms. Before I got him, his chainsaws looked so much longer than the other weapons, so I thought that was the reason, but it turns out they're the same size as most of the others. So I still wonder. It'd be a great question that people'd want to know for an answer. (I'm not quite sure I understand that previous sentence)

His quake-breakers are just too long, the don't want to make the set look awkward.
