i htought that protodermis was supposed to enhance the toas bodies but instead it made Onua's arms smaller.

HE CAN'T EVEN TOUCH HIS TOES!

(don't let my ravings put you off, post your comments!)
-| Mukataj |-
Your right!!!!!!!!!!They should have made his arms eaver(sp?)longer or created a different arm desine.
Blue Convoy
MoT, I think you meant Even longer. Yes, bohrok arms are sort of a let down as he can't use my staff, hammers properly
Smitty
They may be smaller but they are ment to be stronger. They doo look buf to me. With thos long chine saws how long of an arm does he need?
daz36
you know in comic 11/12 onua picks up a boulder well his arms kinda look funny while doing that!
Fikou Pest Control
'Tis definitely annoying. I don't know how he picked up that boulder that Pahrak-Kal vaporised.
Blue Convoy
daz36, It's in comic 11. I've got it with comic 10. he looks well funny!
Blue Convoy
Mine Is Lego Club But UK edition. We Are behind The US Comic Wise
Makuta Master
You guys need to stay on topic. This is a legitimate question. I don't want to close this thread.
daz36
ok to stay on topic; i think i might replace his little arms with onua olda's legs because the arms he has are just rediculous! dry.gif
Toad
I like the new arms that he has. They look very big and make him look stronger than before and that is what the protodermis does. It enhances them to become stronger. Personally. I like them. He doesnt look skinny. laugh.gif
-the ChEaPo!
Areo Crunch
I think the reason is that the quake breakers are so big.

~Anarchy~
And another thing it might look funny if
he has a squat(sp?) body and huge arms
flappin' around everywhere!
MIB/July4
i dont know about you guy's but the second i got my onua nuva i switch't his hand's with the onua olda one's
daz36
but imagine coming out of a pool of silver to find you have the arms of your enemy.

oh yeh and the nuva weapons are all the same size
(i'm surprised that his arms can hold the quake-breakers)
Ex-Mage
Well, his arms may be short, but this implies that they are compact, and durable. Stubby, of course, but the wide middles are meant to imply muscle, since his original strength was primarily in his arms.

Also, due to that previously explained muscle factor, he could most definitely hold the quake breakers. Especially since protodermis is a very light metal.

...Or at least, that's what I've heard. Even if it ISN'T light, he can still hold them because of his strong arms.

So, the short arms are meant to look:

a. strong
b. durable

It's of course, up to you how well this piece pulls it off. rtfm.gif
Polo X
Yes, the arms are a constant pain. They are so short and they don't work well with onua's weapons. I despise those short arms...
neo_nuva
well I personaly like his new arms it makes him look more dwarfish "a dwarf is a stubby little humanoid creature that likes to mine".
Kanohi_Kakama
Hmm... Maybe He stopped working out. Anyhow This is goin to Theories.

T-Hybrid
I kind think they make him look buff (is that the word I wanted?)

If you put them out to the sides, or just straight out, it looks like he's flexing. Kinda a cool pose if I do say so.
Potanu
The protodermis emphasized each Toa's build. Onua's stocky and strong, and the short muscular arms reflect that.
Zelda Fan
well he looks stronger than before maby thats
why. not sure
Habanero
I agree with T-Hybrid. Onua Nuva looks good the way he is. Short and stocky, it gives him more appearance as a stronger, enhanced Toa. At least this is what I think.
Purple Pohatu
I think they make him look muscular. Also, Lego didn't want to make him look too hunchbacked. I mean, if he had normal arms, they'd probably drag on the ground. laugh.gif

I agree, His quake breakers are huge, so he would look and pose much better with smaller arms.
I don't mind him having those arms and I got used to it anyway.

Voriki
Maybe they replaced 'longer arms' with the smaller ones for making a better Akamai Nuva.
-Takanuva-
they are so little.LOl

Perhaps, but I don't think lego would adjust a Toa just for the kaita.
Since the set is based on the Toa.

I still think it has to do with his weapons and maybe to make him look more muscular.

The Cuddly Kitten
Yeah, they were a letdown. I mean, his legs are three times longer than his arms.
And thats really not fun. How will he tie his shoelaces?
Borahk-Kal Hunter
He might look wierd with longer arms because he's so small. smile_onua_nu.gif
Hahli Husky
Not a clue!
Maybe so he won't look like a freakish long-armed dude. laugh.gif I draw people with long arms, by accident, sometimes and it looks insane.
He looks okay!
smilie_maku.gif
FUZZ DUDE
I think he has small arm's because he would like bizzar with larg arm's and I think its good to have small arm's if you are a guy like him, a guy that digs a lot. vahi.gif
Kappa
Yah, I thought that was pretty wierd, I mean, he can't be as agile with his arms, and they just don't look right on him. He does look sort of wierd when you put his arms towards his chest for storage and all. But, with his head being short, I guess Lego decided to give him short arms.

- k.gif
Red XIII's Ugly Mom
I guess that they are smaller to accomidate his humungo-huge chainsaws. If his arms were any longer, then whenever you swung his arms, they would get all mixed up or something. It may just be because a master designer person thought that it looked good, too.
Taggerung
have you ever thought that Onua's arms are shorter because he has longer weapons. cool.gif
Tomago: Toa of Time
ya I think everbody has noyiced that but ne wayz i didnt really care too much bout his arms cuz he still got his tyte saws
Onewa Master
It's amazing he could even pick them up!

daz36 is right. Having the arms of your enemy is scary.

P.S. The nuva weapons are at different sizes. re-measure them.(Pohatu's and Gali's compared to Tahu's)
tahunuva
Personally i think his arms are fine, but they could use some improvement(how could he hold those tools with those dinkey little things?) unsure.gif
Kraata2000
Yeah, the arms are a let down... If the arms were longer than the arms would look sooo wierd. Maybe lego just wanted the arms to look good. Wierd.

Same thing I was going to say. I think he looks good with those arms. Yes proto-metal is very light. Maybe lego will make his arms look better in the movie. Just like they did to pohatu. - thunder
Jemina
He can't punch with those two puny arms! But he makes it up with chain saws. That's acceptable, right?
Rahkshi Hybrid
daz36 I made a topic simalar to this a LONG while back (well it seems that way since the rahkishi have come) and the two over all responces wher that onua nuvas arms are:now make it easer for him to move around in tunnels and is since he hase massive chain saws they would be really hard to move around under ground the next point was that he is always under ground almost so he dont need longer arms then he hase now i mean he dosnt swing from trees like lewa or swim like gali. Oh and tahunuva I think onua nuvas arms could be very strong i mean T rex could lift up to 150lbs with one arm(at least thats what Natrul Geographic says)
hope I helped daz36
Drekana
Sop what if they're short! Start a contreversy why don't you? (Please, its sarcasm)
psychotwitch.gif
Anyway, DO NOT INSULT THE TOA NUVA!
He's strong+Chainsaws! Don't anger him!

Birth Through Sleep
His weapons are much longer and I believe they help him dig better than his short claws long arms. Length isn't always everything, at least look at the muscle in the middle. laugh.gif

Off topic: watch out for DPing Drekana
Big C
I actually like the little arms. They look kinda cute happy.gif . Besides when you have giant chainsaw things that you can ride, then what do you need longer arms for? Onua Olda had long arms to be like everyone else and because he had only claws. Now I think it looks better with short arms but HUGE Chainsaw things.

small? huh.gif no,no,i dont think sooo...

in mah apinion,they are a disapointment. glare.gif however,the quike-breakers actually benifet from them.so i dont mind them.
ExoOnuaNuva
Onua Nuva was the first Nuva I got and my favorite. But before, after and now, I still wonder why he has small arms. Before I got him, his chainsaws looked so much longer than the other weapons, so I thought that was the reason, but it turns out they're the same size as most of the others. So I still wonder. It'd be a great question that people'd want to know for an answer. (I'm not quite sure I understand that previous sentence)
Toa of Rock
I actually think they are so small so that he can lean back better while using his quake breakers on his feet
Kopeke
His quake-breakers are just too long, the don't want to make the set look awkward.
