Where did the Nuva symbols come from? I'm pretty sure that it wasn't just the Toa turning into the Toa Nuva, because the only thing that caused that was them going into the liquid protodermis, and they had protodermis before then. Remember in the MNOLG? They mine it in Onu-Koro!

You might want to catch Greg on that on, but I believe that they came to be because of the power surge of the Protodermis. The elemental powers were fused into the symbols. We do know that the Matoran just found them in the Koro. It's a destiny thing.

When the Toa became Nuva, the symbols just appeared at their Suvas.

I personally reckon they're reserviors for their maxed-out elemental power.

Well, I pretty much agree with you guys, except I read somewhere that the symbols weren't found in the Koros, but in various places near the koros.

I think they weren't found all in one place but yet near their villages

So the symbols just pop out of no-where into the suvas, or mabye after the toa become nuva, the symbols are there and they take it back to their suvas.

Maybe Mata-Nui made them? I don't know anyone else on the island who could make a "magical-floating-glowing-box" like the nuva cube?

the nuva symbols were created when the toa transformed into their nuva form. and it was a house for there power because it could not be held inside them any more.

The symbols seem to be a protodermis link between the powers of the Toa and their bodies. Their purpose in the story is to give the Matoran a way to help the Toa.

If you think about it, the Nuva symbols weren't the only objects to appear when the Toa were changed. The same event also spawned the Kanohi Nuva, which were spread around the island.

The symbols appeared at the Suvas whenever the Toa transformed. It shows it in the MNOLG update: After the Storm.

Protodermis only changes you if it's your destiny to be changed. And the protodermis in Onu-Koro is solid, not liquid.
