Full Version: Vahi?

Let me be blunt:

The Vahi had no purpose.

Explanation: well, the vahi has really only been used once, hasnt it? and even that time, it was ineffective. so, why exactly did lego make it up? well... since it was in the original kanohi packs as a secret mask, it was probably just to make money...granted, there is a chance of it making a comeback in future storylines, but y'know what it seems like to me? the only time the vahi appeared was right at the very end of the kal storyline. there is no explanation of how it was obtained (sorry if this is wrong, but i did'nt see anything telling me how they got the mask). and, if it was created during the toa olda part of the storyline, the toa had plenty of time (no pun intended) to use it. i reckon it looks like Lego forgot all about it until right at the end of the kal storyline, and they quickly threw it into the mix before the whole mask of light thing.

What do you guys think?

Well, that one time saved the whole island of Mata-Nui... I don't think it's useless. blink.gif It slows time, so the Toa can attack without being attacked, or whatever. Remember, it wasn't even planned to use it in the Storyline, except GregF saw we wanted it, so they made some correctiosn, and added it. I say we give GregF a hand for going through to trouble to use it at all! biggrin.gif Not much.... but nice of him. cool.gif

I also believe that it was going to be used in the ORIGINAL computer game, but that got scrapped.
Tahurahk
It doesnt say how it was actually used though does it? I mean it just shows Tahu with a Vahi on and then the Kal blow up
Lakua
Tahu got the Vahi from Vakama.Without that pause the Toa couldn't have defeated the Kal.

Basically, the Vahi slowed the Bohrok-Kal down long enough for the Toa to concentrate their remaining power through the Nuva Symbols the Bohrok-Kal still held, thus overwhelming the Bohrok-Kal by increasing their natural power to monolithic proportions, and they were destroyed with their own power.

Without the Vahi, the Toa Nuva wouldn't have time to do this, and the Bohrok-Kal would've awakened the Bahrag.
Seems pretty useful to me.

it did help...but I see where you're coming from. when I got my first one, I was thinking..."so what? I put it on a toa, they do that wierd 'matrix' thing, then what?". but hey, it's something to collect, and besides--it just looks cool!
MOX
Well put, Lord Lupus. If the bahrag had been awakened... well, combined with the Kal and the Toa not having their powers and all... nuff said, I suppose.
jesse92
Proberlly that would be true but I suspect that the toa are going to have to use it more to prevent the rahkshi of doing something or something like that.

ss4 takanuva that was spamming welcome to BZpower please go read the rules thank you anyway if they didnt have the Vahi the nuva couldt have beaten the kal because they needed time that they wouldnt have had without the Vahi
Exo-Toa of Plastic
Lord Lupus already answered the question of what the Vahi did in the Kal story, so I'm going to answer the question of why it wasn't used before.

The Vahi is an extremely powerful mask, with an extremely dangerous power. If the Toa used it every time they faced an enemy, they would run a very real risk of destroying all of reality.
