How was the protodermis made? And who by? Was it Makuta so he could put six borohk into the protodermis so they become... Kal! Or was it Mata Nui? Did he do it because he knew it was going to happen with the swarms and everything. What do you think?

i dont know good qustion i think matanui saw that this was going to hapen and made it or its a natural substence that changes things and is scarce and hard to find

1. I'd assume it was made when the island was, as it's a natural resource. Ask yourself, how was rock made? No one answer that, or this topic might get religious.

2. Made by who? Mata Nui, i'd assume, since the Wall of History says Mata Nui was made by Mata Nui.

3. The Kal where made by a mixture of protodermis and the Bahrag's energies, not by Makuta.

4. As said before, Mata Nui didn't create the Kal, the Bahrag did.

Makuta is involved with the borohk! In one of the latest Bionicle comics Makuta says:
So again the prophecies of the Matoran oppose my will. I set the Rahi against them... I unleashed the Borohk swarms... But still they refuse to break.

So Makuta is involved with the Bohrok swarms!

Well I personally believe that Protodermis is Quite literally the Heart of Mata-nui, as Magma is the heart of earth...But Protodermis doesn't melt into a puddle.. So I don't Believe Makuta or Mata-nui had anything to do with it

As said by Polo X the Kal were Mutated Bohrok created by the Bahrag. And No Makuta is Not involved in any way with the Bohrok, He simply knew where they were and how to Manipulate them, He released them too early, but he Did not create them.

I think its either an element of the earth like fire, water, lightning. Or it may be essence of the god Mata-Nui. It is the islands life-force. I don't think anything on Mata-Nui could live without it.

As I said elsewhere, Makuta awoke the Bohrok early to buy himself time to recuperate, that's all. he didn't make them,. he doesn't control them, they're not in league...
he made use of them, as is his nature.

As for Protodermis, a natural resource it is indeed, but not in a liquid state.
Liquid Protodermis is very rare, and I doubt the matoran have come across it before, so whilst Protodermis is common, Liquid Protodermis is very, very rare. And special.

Protodermis is natural like gold, silve and diamond. The Matoran mine it for currency and for making it into tools and other useful items.

It reminds me of Murcury, the stuff that used to be in themometers.

... Until it was deemed poisonous.

Anyway, I doubt Protodermis is liquid at room temperature, otherwise think of all those widgets melting...

It is probably a natural resource, It's a bit like gold, or metal. it's just probably made by something like a volcanoe erupting or like fossils are made.
