The Shadow Toa were real. They did exist. The Toa really did face them. It's just that neither the comics nor (not surprisingly) the MNOLG showed the battle.

The Shadow Toa were these beings that Makuta created. They're like the mirror-images of the Toa, they have the exact same powers, only they use them for evil. The battle happened after the Kaita faced the Manas. By then, the Toa had split apart. After that, they went and faced Makuta.

Yeah, and if Greg is right, it was some battle. The fight will be in one of those books that are out right now.
And if we're lucky, there might even be a picture or two.

The Shadow Toa were originally slated to appear in the first Bionicle PC game, the one that ended up being cancelled due to developmental problems. I don't know if they're going to appear in the game that's coming out this fall, but I haven't heard anything.

Surely someone has the books by now, can anyone fill us in? I had always thought that the S. Toa were just part of Makuta, not actual beings. Kind of like Shadow Link from the Zelda games...

if there was a shadow toa, that would of affected everything. Lego in a scam to make muti colored enemies rather then one would of had to make a bohrok in his color. then a va in the shadow' toa's color then a kal and then a nuva then a toa set then a rahkshi set and his color mask. what color would he be anyway.
