The Nui-Rama resemble large, flying insects. They can be found throughout Mata Nui, though it is believed they make their nests in Lewa's jungles. Nui-Rama spend most of their time in the air, spying on the Toa for Makuta or stalking their prey.
Like all Rahi, the Nui-Rama are controlled by the infected masks they wear. If the masks are removed, they will cease fighting and can sometimes even be tamed. Because they have the ability to fly at great speeds, the Le-Koronan sometimes ride them in addition to the Kahu.
Swarms of these flying menaces attack Le-Koro, and are driven back by brave defenders of that village, riding Kewa birds. One bird, carrying the Chronicler, attempts a rescue attempt in a Rama hive but crashes. They are rescued by Onua's timely appearance. Nui-Rama swarms later attack the Chronicler's Company during their defense of the Kini-Nui.
With buzzing wings and a razor-sharp beak, Nui-Rama are giant insect-like creatures. When controlled by Makuta, they battle the Toa – but if the Toa are victorious, they can tame the Nui-Rama. Push levers on Nui-Rama’s back, and his buzzing wings flip forward to dislodge an unsuspecting foe’s mask. Includes two Nui-Rama per set.
