| Description: |
The Manas were the powerful guardians of Makuta. They resemble huge crabs and their sheer power and vicious tempers are legendary. Only the Toa Kaita have ever faced the Manas, and it took all their strength to defeat them. Like all Rahi, Manas can be defeated by knocking off their infected masks. No one knows if a maskless Manas can be tamed.
The Manas are fierce crab-like creatures, lurking in the caves and tunnels of Mangaia. The Manas are very mysterious, and they in fact may not even be true Rahi! Whether or not they ever lived on the surface, are natural Rahi or can be tamed is unknown at the moment. |

| Notes |
| Manas thrive on heat, and large generators constructed by Makuta When the Toa Kaita battled the Manas in the Mangaia, they destroyed the generators causing the Manas to become weakened. The word "Manas" means "monster" in the Matoran language and was given to them because of their fierce and savage nature. Two Manas guarded the lair of the Makuta and several more guard the realm of Karzahni. Karzahni later attempted to use an entire army of Manas to take over the city of Mahri Nui. |
