Introducing the BZP Bionicle Set Database
BZPowerSaturday, January 15th, 2005 at 9:53am by Kelly, BZPower Co-Owner

I'm very pleased to announce the introduction of a brand-new BZPower Bionicle Sets Database!

This is a comprehensive new feature that includes detailed set and storyline information for each LEGO Bionicle set released since 2001. It's the first major update to BZPower's Reference section for quite some time, but it's only the first.

I did the back-end coding, and we recruited several Bionicle set and storyline experts from within BZPower to help make this a reality. You may have noticed the "Mystery Group" started a couple of weeks ago. Well, this group is the Reference Keeper group. They will be in charge of maintaining the reference section of BZPower. I'd like to thank them for putting in so much time over the last couple of weeks to get things going.

Leading this team have been bonesiii and Crystal Matrix, two distinguished members of the Bionicle community and longtime BZPower members. The rest of the team consists of Master of the Rahkshi, QB., bohrokwill, Toa Pilak Evolved, and Pekel Hordika.

The set database currently consists of 119 set listings, each with multiple pictures, set information, descriptions, alt models, and character/storyline information. You can browse the collection and order the lists by year released, character type, and much more. You can also do a simple or advanced search to narrow the parameters. Try clicking the "Browse Sets" button to get started, and you'll get a full list.

The best part about this (in my opinion) is the links and lists of related information. For example, try putting your mouse over any of these little symbols on the set page: Symbol

This database will continue to grow and be updated by our Reference Keepers, and we've got more things in the works as well: the rest of the Reference section will be undergoing an overhaul; Collectibles will make a big comeback; and we'll also have a little surprise for BZP Premier members.

I hope you have as much fun with this section of BZP as we've had creating it. Enjoy!
