Zombies

I've never been much of a fan of zombies. Never thought they were scary at all: slow, dumb, hands up in the air, etc. But then I started watching The Walking Dead a few weeks ago (and finished the first and second seasons). Gotta say, that definitely changes my opinion on zombies. The show isn't all that scary itself, but if it were real I would totally be freaking out. =P Still, the show is incredibly well done and very entertaining. I almost wish I hadn't started watching it so I wouldn't have

Yuletide Writings

So when I woke up this morning I really felt like writing a Christmas story. I love little bursts of inspiration like this. Anyway, ten minutes later, this is the result. It's not finished yet -- probably still need to edit it some, and there's actually going to be a second part to it -- as right as I was outlining a further part of the story I had to do some other things.   But still, I wanted to post it here while it's still Christmas (for us West-coasters, at least, for a few minutes =P); on

Writings

:: ::     I am ashamed to say that I haven't really done much over the recent downtime. Writing-wise, at least. What do I blame that to?   - Reading a bunch of Agatha Christie murder mysteries - Watching a couple seasons of NCIS my grandpa got on DVD and let me borrow [an awesome show, I must say] - Doing numerous things on other forums   Not an excuse, I know. I have done a few things, though:   - Started writing an epic that Nuju Metru and myself are co-writing -- it's the new "Chronicles of

Writing Spree

:: ::  ...Definitely not something I get lately, but I welcome them with open arms. I have had one these past few days. I hope to finish a Short Story by tomorrow or Wednesday. Although I have no idea when I'll actually post it.   I also have a couple other ideas, such as writing two short epics. 1) Re-writing The Battle. 2) Re-Write The Quest for the Mask of Time.   I love writing sprees. I thank God every time I get one. Hopefully it will last another week and a half for all of my Christma

Writers' Club

Please read this entry.   :: ::  Welcome to the Writer's Club! The BZPower Writers' Club is a group of writers that have gotten together to help each other improve their literacy skills as well as discuss their story ideas. This entry may be used for discussion of the club or of literature in general; I'll probably make another entry for writing ideas/discussion, and I'll be making a Library entry soon [please post your works there!].   Purpose  The purpose of the Writers’ Club is to get

Writers Club Idea

:: ::  I've been thinking about this for a while, and now I've decided to share it in my blog.   If you join you agree to: -Review the stories of other club members [not necessarily all, but each story should get 2-3 replies from club members] -Try to write frequently.   Then there'd be monthly contests in which club members could take part in, and possibly other stuff.   Basically, it's just a thing to get people to review and write more.   Any suggestions/comments are appreciated. Writer's Club

:: ::  Welcome to the Writer's Club! Here is a place that you join so that you can review and write more, and where you can also get reviews for your own works. There are no limits as to who can join, but, if one wants to enter the monthly contests, than I ask that he/she agrees to the following terms:   -You write at least four reviews in one month, for this club. The only exception would be if you are a member of the ECC or SSCC, then three of your four reviews may be done there instead,

Write-Offs

Write-Offs are writing challenges originally created by 55555 and Kakaru, where a group of people get together in a group chat on Skype and write. A theme is given, and all participants have 15-minutes to write a vignette/flash fiction story about said theme, with no extra time for editing or preparing. At the end, the stories are sent to all participants and the participants critique each others' works.

Why Does This Always Seem To Happen?

Whenever I write a short story, or get an idea for a short story and start planning it out, I work a lot the first time I work on it, but afterward I never feel like working on it.   A few nights ago I was sitting in bed somewhere around midnight not all that tired and decided to write so I pulled out a notebook/pen and wrote out part of a short story and outlined the rest of it. Personally I am quite fond of the idea, and think it's pretty cool. But, as what always seems to be the problem wit

Whoa

I posted and saw a Huna next to my name. Totally forgot about that, lol. Which means I don't have a three-year anniversary special.   Let's see if I can type something up really quick:   A darkly clad figured panted as he stumbled down a black, wet alleyway. He grabbed on to a smooth, concrete wall, attempting to catch his breath but started running again as the footsteps behind him neared. He side ran into a tin trash bin and he cursed in pain, but kept on, pushing himself off of the rusted m

Whispers

Whispers   ~ :: ~   Kaeru. ..........Kaeru, Kaeru. ..........Whispers. Whispers shouting from the darkness. Another voice came. This one distinctly in the form of telepathy. .........."Kaeru," Shakaz's deep, sinister voice rang in Kaeru's head, "report to my chamber. Now." ..........Kaeru had been looking over the blueprints for the fortress trying to figure out more defenses when he received the message; immediately stopping what he was doing, sitting up from his chair, and making his way

Which Would You Rather See?

Now this doesn't mean I'll do whatever one wins, but I am just curious as to which option you would rather see:   A -- A series [or just one story] of Murder Mysteries set in a BIONICLE world with Velox, Jural, Iavo, and others as the investigators -- if anyone knows the characters of Velox, Jural, and Iavo, you will know that they were all on the same team once and were the "police" of their city. Modernized, and more humanized.   Or   B -- A completely human series [or just one story] of M

What I'm Doing This Summer

1. Getting my freakin driving permit. I've put this off far too long [i mean, I could have my license in two days (I'll be 16) if I wanted to, but I haven't started anything yet].   2. Writing 750 words a day, at least. There's this awesome site where you write 750 words a day, and after each day, it'll show you frequently used words and some other stats [there's also badges you can get for completing this however many days in a row and stuff]. I would link to it [really, it is an awesome site

What I Love About San Francisco

The Weather [yes, capitalization is necessary]. Oh. My. Gosh. It's like, always foggy, and if not, it's always cold. <3 Unfortunately, however, I hate the city itself. Like, if Los Angeles [the perfect city =P] had San Francisco weather [the perfect weather], then that would be amazing.   Anyway, I just spent the day there, going to Ghirardelli Square, a used book store [The Green Apple, if anyone's curious], my aunt's house [unfortunately my uncle wasn't there (her husband), but my other u

Water And Ice

Water and Ice   The peaceful air, The calm night, Dotted with stars, In the heavens above.   The waves flow, So calm and smooth, They glisten, In the evening moon.   The snow flutters, So graceful and free, It sparkles, In the ever-bright sun.   The waves crash, So violent and fierce, But ebb, Against the cold, soft sand.   The snow blizzards, So cold and sharp, It blows, In the freezing wind.   The waves roll, So strong and quick They lap, Against your feet.   The snow falls, So pure and white.

Vacation

:: ::  I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go to Sacramento. I'm not sure how much I'll be on, though. I'm driving back Thursday, so I won't be on then or tomorrow, 'cause driving takes up pretty much the whole day.   And tonight is the Easter Vigil Mass. It's so awesome... but long, unfortunately. Anyway, if anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'm the server that holds/uses the censer - the Thurifur [at least, I think that's how it's spelled...].   So, yeah. This will be my first time being th

Updates Entry

Few things that I've been meaning to blog about but never have: The Hunger Games ~ Been reading through the series; I'm a little more than a third through Mockingjay right now. I actually like them. While the writing isn't the best, and the present tense bugged me at first, but I've gotten used to it and now I really enjoy them. I'm quite excited to finish the series. Will blog about it more when I do, most likely. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I plan to soon. Speaking of movies ~ The D

Top Ten Tuesday #9: Books at Top of Spring 2013 TBR List

~ :: :: ~ March 12: Top Ten Books At The TOP Of My Spring 2013 TBR list! The Floating Admiral, by the Detection Club (including Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, G.K. Chesterton, and others). I'm definitely reading this next. I love the idea, first of all, of so many classic detective novelists writing a story together. Plus the three aforementioned authors are all very great writers, and I'll really enjoy reading what they came up with. Coup d'Etat, by Ben Coes. Been meaning to rea

Top Ten Tuesday #8: Series I'd Like To Start But Haven't Yet

Top Ten Series I'd Like To Start But Haven't Yet Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien. I'm reading it this year, over the summer. I'm not letting myself go another year without doing so. Reasons are obvious. Although technically I guess I've started this, but that was years ago. Jack Reacher, by Lee Child. I love Vince Flynn and Tom Clancy and Alex Berenson and Ben Coes and Stephen Hunter. As another master of thrillers, I've always wanted to read Lee Child's books. Not to mention the new mov

Top Ten Tuesday #7: Best Bookish Memories

Haven't done one of these in a while, but I didn't really have anything to put for the last few except one or two, plus I was busy with other projects so I figured I just wouldn't do anything. But this one I liked.   February 5: Top Ten Best Bookish Memories (waiting in line for a new release, meeting an author, or some sort of great experience with a particular book that was unlike others) Vince Flynn Booksigning in 2010. Definitely my favorite bookish experience, as he was really one o

Top Ten Tuesday #6: Bookish Goals For 2013

Top Ten Bookish Goals For 2013 Read at least 52 books -- a book a week. I've been doing it the past two years, I don't plan on stopping now. Read 12 books that have been on my shelf for over a year. I have over 500 books on my shelves, and I've probably only read half of those, if not even less. Read the Lord of the Rings. I still can't believe I haven't read these yet, but I will this year. Read the rest of A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin. On Monday I picked up A Clash of K
