Good News!

My brother was actually nice to me!   He had gotten a bunch of Bionicle peices from one of his friends for his birthday. A tub with that friend's bionicle collection that he could find (mainly toa metru and rahkshi). This was in June. Now, August (or september as of date) my brother gives me everything because he's not a MOCer, and I am, and basically he can't make any actual set from these peices. So now I have a couple of toa metru bodies, armor, and various weapons, not to mention Guu

Superdance '007

OK, guys, this is the biggest thing in my school. It's been going on since 1976 and is really important, exciting, and the closest thing to all of the student's hearts. (Please read the whole entry)   SUPERDANCE!!!   This is a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a group that works towards finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis and for helping those that have it get through life. CF is a disease that clogs the lungs with mucous, making it hard to breath.   What makes it so special to

Thanksgiving Dinner, On The Table

My perfect Thanksgiving dinner would be delivery pizza (for the irony) and a well-made pumpkin pie.   But then I probably wouldn’t be spending it with my family, so I guess I’ll live through eating this turkey so I can have my dad’s amazing pumpkin pie.   It’s all about the pie.   -CF Right now I'm watching some fantastic pumpkin chuckin' on Science channel!

Looking For Alaska

Read it. Go read it now. Do it.   I started and finished Looking for Alaska (by John Green) over the period of four days. That's surprising for someone like me who doesn't make time to read much anymore.   I did so because the book was fantastic!   A friend was telling me last week about how a book isn't really good until you start emotionally feeling for the characters, when stuff happens and you just want to throw the book across the room or you have to stop reading for one reason or another.

Remedial Chaos Theory

(Yes, I am tiptoeing the BZP size limit. I'm safe though. In this reality.)   I'm a fan of Norwegian Trolls. My uncle is from Norway, and I've seen an exhibit way back when.   -CF

In My Closet

Is a button down white shirt, which I shall attach a Gryffindor logo to. And I shall wear my red striped tie. There is also my tunic, most often used for my Black Cat cosplay. I shall wear this at some point today as well.   That’s right folks, I have two costumes for one Halloween.   Happy Halloween, everybody.   ~Fox   Quote of the Day: “Mr. Prongs agrees with Mr. Mooney, and would like to add that Professor Snape is an ugly git.”

Board Message Or Fortune Cookie?

Online on saturday morning, I got an anoying board message. But Binky or somebody has made them a teeny bit bearable with those random, crazy messages. I love them, as I love random quotes.   Well, this particular morning I got this message: "Don’t you have some homework to do?"   Got me laughing, and thinking. I probably should do my homework. But, hey, being online is more fun.   -CF

Grandfather Here

I won't be on too much this next week, as my grandpa is in town (from Milwaukee) and his "bedroom" is the family room (couch) and the cord to the internet is also down here in the family room. At the very least I don't expect to be on past 10, but hopefully I can play some quick catch up before work in the morning...assuming he gets up early. He won't be here Saturday night, though, and maybe not Friday night either, so I'll have my chances.   Luckily I have a few entries in draft, so I can j

Merry Naming Day!

We'll see if I'm lucky to get online tomorrow, so I'm posting anything christmas today. To start, I made a topic about decorating your christmas tree, Link here, it's pretty fun.   Second, on the name of this entry, I'm giving this a little more bionicle feel. You know, naming day! In one of the bionicle Adventures books, someone talks of Mata Nui riding throught the chutes and giving presents to matoran, so...Merry Naming Day!   Well, in my family, there is the tradition of opening one pre

You Want To Trade?

My dad told me that he was enjoying driving the "breaking down" Cavalier (and I know that is spelled incorrectly because it has the red underline but now right click is not helping with spelling. Actually, all of Firefox's preferences aren't showing up. Grr. Anyway, the "Cavalier" or whatever...) that's something around 14 years old and has had its share of problems so much so that I'd want to take it to school but I doubt it would survive the 3 hour drive down, enjoying it over his 2 year ol

I'm Having A Good Time

Had to drive 5 hours straight today (Wednesday)...by myself. Luckily I was able to take my dad's car, which was slightly a surprise (though welcome) when I woke up this morning. "My car" has a tape deck, but I did not want to use my tape adapter as it keeps popping out every ten minutes, it seems.   So on Tuesday I bought an FM transmitter, which hooks into my cigarette lighter power source and can also charge my iPod at the same time.   Best drive ever. I guess. I made a playlist the day

Tree Climber!

So today I climbed a tree for the first time in a long time. It's been years since I last climbed a tree. Felt good too. (keep in mind my age)     -CF

Lent

For Lent, the Catholic season before Easter, I will be sacrificing something I enjoy and whatnot for prayerful fasting and able to grow as a person...and stuff. (Religious discussion, etc.)   Anyway, I'm giving up most of all my fun internet usage. I spend way too much time on here, so I feel that this will be a good sacrifice for all the reasons us Catholics do this.   Note, however, that I didn't say I'm giving it up entirely, so as to not be hypocritical. While I'll refrain from the blog

Asking the Tough Questions

There are a few good memes floating around online. Philosoraptor is one such meme. And now he's come to LEGO:   The PhiLEGOphy Raptor!   (Cell phone pic with decently solid background at WAMALUG using a friend's raptor.)   Make your own!   Maybe more to come? Enjoy!   -CF (Totally stole that thought from a LEGO Movie character guide.)

Mockingjay

I finished Suzanne Collins's final segment of The Hunger Games Trilogy, Mockingjay, a few days ago, and then promptly wrote a review about it for the school paper. Here's a few select paragraphs that generally sum up my thoughts:   All throughout the series, chapter-by-chapter, twists are revealed and shocking events occur, even despite moments of predictability. This keeps the reader guessing, pleasantly surprised at some moments and eager to turn the page at others. Its strength is the pace

The Test

so, I decided to test out that "draft" button. So here is the test.   If you can read this draft, post so in the reply part. But I think that might not be possible, so post in the testing entry right below.   'K?   -CF   Yeah, that was the test. The draft button. (I was able to check out my blog not signed in, and this wasn't visible. So...Pretty much, I guess I can post anything, reminders, half blogs, such, and nobody will see it before it's done! So, yeah. SĠŮ: Aftermath

1) If Rush's wife and that other guy are figments of his imagination, how do they know more than he does? Like mentioning how he ignored the volcanic disruption, yet that guy knew about it. (I guess Rush really did see it but ignored it, and now readdressed the issue.) (I guess, however, that the notion of them being projections of the ship or possibly ascended beings also works.)   2) If you are being suffocated wouldn't you pass out first? It just seemed like a risky move to just leave him

Blue Man Group!

The Blue Man Group is at the university's center for the arts this weekend. Some friends and I went tonight and boy, what a show! They are phenomenal. I'm sure everyone who has already seen them will agree with me, and when I say that the performances are fantastic, funny, random, and worth every penny.   We got some pictures, with my cell phone (so they're not so good), and it was pretty exciting:   -CF
