Nine years ago, my brothers and I collaborated to write the single greatest Bionicle fanfic ever written. True, most of us didn't know how to write at the time and we had absolutely no experience writing any sort of fiction at all, but gosh darn it we didn't let those minor inconveniences get in the way of us writing the greatest Bionicle fanfic ever written (and yes, the italics are totally necessary. Why? Because it's the greatest Bionicle fanfic ever written that's why). You must understand
For a long while now I've been considering joining the Ambage. When the Ambage first started up a while ago, I was skeptical that it would last, for all of the other BZP writers' groups/clubs I'd seen in my time always died of inactivity (not to mention they seemed more focused on giving out "rewards" rather than actually encouraging writers to improve their craft). I fully expected the Amabage to die within a month or so; after all, that's what happened to all of the other BZP writers' groups/c
Looking at the schedule for Brick Fiesta this year and considering my own schedule and financial situation, I think I might be able to go this year. Emphasis on might. I've never gone to a LEGO fan event like Brick Fiesta before, so not entirely sure what to expect. It also depends on anything that might come up on the days its open. I have no big trips or anything else scheduled for July 23-26, but just the same, sometimes things come up when you least expect it (like my grandfather's funeral
As some of you may know, Nintendo is distributing codes for the demo for the upcoming remakes of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, called Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which are coming out almost exactly one month from today. In the US, you can get these codes by signing up for their Pokémon Trainer Club Newsletter. When you get the newsletter in your email, you take the code and put it in the Nintendo eShop to download the demo onto your Nintendo 3DS system. Since I thought Ruby and Sapph
Exactly one year ago today, I posted the final chapter of my last epic, In the End (which you can read here if you are interested). It was the big grand finale of the Shikaverse, my own Bionicle fanfic universe, as some of you might recall. Since then, I have published eleven original novels, four short stories, one novella, one collection, and one serial (which is five episodes), with even more works on the way before the end of 2015 and going well into 2016 and beyond. I even started a new p
Recently I have discovered this delightful little website called I Write Like. You basically paste an excerpt of your writing - blog posts, journey entries, comments, chapters of novels, short stories, poems, whatever - and the website tells you which famous writer you write like. The best part about this website is that you can do it over and over again, having it analyze excerpts of your writing from different stories. This I did and got different results almost every time. Here's the full l
I posted this on this blog back in September for Mask of Light's tenth anniversary, but it was deleted in the hacking, so I thought I'd repost this gem for everyone to see again. Watch and be amazed. Or cringe in horror. Both reactions are appropriate, really. -TNTOS-
Hey, guys. Recently I downloaded the zip.exe program from this website in order to compress my files into the EPUB format (I'm learning ebook formatting, BTW, and the guide I am using said I needed this program in order to make my ebook). But while I managed to download the program with zero problems, it's acting up on my Windows 8 computer. Every time I try to open it, it opens and then immediately closes before I can use it. It just won't stay open for some reason. I did some googling an
Hey, everyone! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas yesterday (including those who don't celebrate it; after all, would you rather I wish you a bad Christmas?). I thought I'd share my loot with y'all because that's what all the cool kids do. Without further ado, I got: -A brand new Acer E 15 laptop. It's not the fanciest laptop around, but it has amazing battery life (almost 8 hours when fully charged) and can do everything I need it to do, so I'm happy with it -A Logitech mouse to go along
Man, English anime dubs can be kind of hit-and-miss, as any anime fan knows, but ... wow. Ian Sinclair's Brook is just as good as Brook's original Japanese voice, IMO. Makes me want to watch the dub again, actually. I've been watching the subbed version of the show and have just finished the Thriller Bark ark, which is why I decided that I wanted to hear Brook's English voice. I must say, I am not disappointed in the least. -TNTOS-
These are some of the awesomest Internet videos I have ever seen. Ever. And I have seen a lot of awesome Internet videos. Favorite quote: "I'm crazy, and I'm right" - Rick Santorum. -TNTOS-
Today I bought all four of the books from the Twilight Saga for a mere $12 at a Good Will store. Will I regret this decision? But seriously, I bought them because I want to decide for myself if they're good or not. I keep hearing about how horrible/great they are (depending on whether I am listening to a fan or a hater) and I don't really know who to believe, so I am going to read them and see just how good or bad they really are for myself. Wish me luck. -TNTOS-
Today officially kicks off the first day of NaNoWriMo 2013! Yay! This year, I am writing an original fantasy novel titled The Mad Voyage of Prince Malock. As you have probably already noticed, I have added a NaNoWriMo word count content block to this blog, which will be updated daily as I write my novel. Feel free to borrow the general format for your own blog if you are participating this year. Or not. Whatever floats your boat. Best of luck to my fellow NaNo novelists as we strive to hit t
So I've recently started watching Lost, since the entire series is on Netflix and what not. Thus far I've only seen the first four episodes, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. My favorite character so far is probably John Locke, but that could change as the series progresses. -TNTOS-
Hello again, everyone. I thought I'd share the covers for some of the books I've published this year. These aren't the covers of all of my books; just the ones I like best. You can also click on each cover to check out each book's page on my website, where you can learn more about whichever book captures your interest. Let's start with the cover for my fantasy novel, The Mage's Grave, first book in my Mages of Martir fantasy series, available in ebook and trade paperback wherever books are sol
Hi, everybody. Recently (as in, starting last month) I haven't been able to get onto my Skype account. Every time I put in my username and password, it tries loading and then says "Skype can't connect" above the username and password boxes, thus preventing me from connecting to my account. Yes, I've upgraded it, but it still doesn't work. So, fellow Skype users, have any of you ever run into this kind of problem before? If so, how did you resolve it? I really need an answer because I still n
My epic, Tapestry of Evil, has 1001 views (at last )! Yay!
True, perhaps that isn't as good or as fun or exciting as having 1001 posts, but that at least shows that people are reading and (hopefully) enjoying it.
On the flipside, Honor versus Greed has zero replies and only 30 views. Wah. Oh well. Short stories generally don't get a lot of replies or views anyway, so I'm not that upset, though I wouldn't mind it if someone decided to review HvG (pretty please?).
Also, it's only about t
Tomorrow I will be out of town for a week and may or may not have Internet access during that time. So I might not post the next chapter of In the End on Monday or the next story in The Biological Chronicle series, nor will I be on BZP in general during that time. Just thought y'all should know so nobody thinks I dropped off the face of the earth or anything, heh. -TNTOS-
I was going to offer my opinions on the whole issue, but then I decided that I didn't have the time or interest (although I apparently have the time and interest to tell everyone that I don't have the time and interest, so ... ). -TNTOS-
As most of you probably know, I have officially "retired" from writing fanfiction in order to give my real writing career the time and care it deserves (though I may take some time in late 2015/early 2016 to write a couple fics I have ideas for, but that's very far off and not worth talking about at the moment). Over my fanfic "career," I wrote over 50 epics, short stories, and comedies combined. Not all of them got on BZP; in fact, there were quite a few that I either never finished, never st
Yes, I am a Premier Member now. After nearly three years of being a member of BZP, I have finally gotten around to doing this. I got Lifetime Premier Membership, so I won't have to renew it every month or year, and anyway, BZP's definitely given me what I consider seveal years worth of Internet experience to warrant Lifetime Premier Membership IMO.
I am thinking of posting one or two blog entries a week, maybe. Kind of would like to regularly update it at least so it doesn't become a ghost bl
Well this morning Family Dollar called me and asked if I still wanted a job I'd applied for last month. So I told them I did and they told me to come to the store for a job interview as soon as I could, which I did. The job interview went quickly and easily and I got the job. This surprises me because 1) I had forgotten about my Family Dollar job application until today and 2) I didn't know the job interview would be that easy. So I'm going to begin work tomorrow. It really did come out of n
Yesterday we got a Wii-U -- specifically, the more expensive version -- along with New Super Mario Bros. U. I haven't really played with it or used most of it features, but I'm not particular interested in it. Maybe if we had more games for it I would be, but right now the PS3 just seems better. NSMBU is pretty much the same as the other NSMB games, except the world map takes a cue from the old Super Mario World game for the SNES, as well as a couple other minor changes. So if you liked the la
