The Weather

Has been very nice for the past few days. It actually feels a little bit like spring right now. Not too hot, not too cold, just right, with a nice breeze, too. Enjoying it very much, I am[/yodaspeak].   -TNTOS-

Some A U A Tidbits

All right. I am about halfway through editing An Unlikely Alliance and have decided to share some small tidbits about the story (for those who care XD). Maybe this will make people more interested in it; maybe it won't. Regardless, I feel like doing this just the same:   -Only a small handful of Dark Hunters are present on Shika Nui during AUA. The reason for the disappearance of the rest will be explained   -Likewise, the Matoran population on Shika Nui has also severely decreases. Again, the

Hero Factory

Now that we've got some official Toy Fair photos of the Hero Factory sets, I've decided to give my general opinion on the line so far:   Heroes: I have to say that I think the Heroes themselves look pretty nice. I like their colors, mostly, and they look like they have cool weapons. I might pick up Blaze or Surge sometime, depending on whether I have the money or not. Like their helmets and weapons quite a bit as well, though I wish their arms had a bit more armor on them.   Villains: The four

Glatorian Chronicles #6: New Beginnings Posted!

Just posted the sixth GC today in the Short Stories forum. So go read it .   Don't expect the seventh GC for a while, however, since I have begun editing AUA, which will take sometime considering its length. I'm still happy with it overall, though.   -TNTOS-

An Unlikely Alliance . . .

. . . is, as of last night, finished, at just a little over 100,000 words, making it the longest epic in the Shika Trilogy, with 28 chapters and an epilogue to boot. To celebrate, I drank a bottle of Gatorade. Yay!   Unlike the last two drafts, I am very happy with this one, since it came out quite well in my opinion. But like all first drafts (or third, in this case? whatever) it will need some editing. Heck, I can already think of some parts that will need to go or be edited heavily. It's pre

Odd / Cool Coincidence

Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but in my trilogy of fanfics, which I call the Shika Trilogy, one of the Toa is called Barilo, and he is a Toa of Gravity. I made him and his name sometime in early 2008, if I remember correctly, well-before we ever learned that "Ba" was the prefix for Matoran of Gravity in the official BIONICLE canon.   See the similarities? Barilo is a Toa of Gravity, meaning he used to be a Ba-Matoran, and the first two letters in his name are the Matoran of Gravity pr

Epic Technical Data

This blog entry will display the technical data for all of the chapters for the first two epics in the Shike Trilogy, The Tales of Shika Nui and Tapestry of Evil. That pretty much means I will show how many words there are per chapter for both epics and an overall word count the epic as a whole.   So here we go:   For The Tales of Shika Nui:   Prologue: 247   Chapter 1: 1507   Chapter 2: 1710   Chapter 3: 1377   Chapter 4: 2436   Chapter 5: 3755   Chapter 6: 4626   Chapter 7: 3993

On Kinetics & Psionics

I don't care either way whether it becomes an elemental power or not. Not that I would hate it if it did, but I simply just could care less if it did.   So in other words, I feel rather apathetic towards the power as a whole and don't care if it is canonized. Actually, I think I remember Greg's recent post in the poll saying that it will not be a Toa element but could be a mask power or something instead, so perhaps me stating my opinion on this is pointless.   In that case, in order to make t

What I Find Funny About The O G D

I just love it when, browsing the OGD, I see people with what could be called small essays, detailing their questions or requests to Greg, and Greg merely replies with a short paragraph, or even smaller than that. I find it funny, personally.   -TNTOS-

Birth By Sleep . . .

Oh how I wish Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep was out in America now. I also wish I had a PSP to go along with it, but that's beside the point. I suppose listening to "Simple and Clean" while writing isn't helping me get any more patient, heh.   And yes, I am quite aware that it is out in Japan at the moment and that spoilers are probably all over the Internet by now. But I have chosen to ignore them; I don't want to spoil this game for me because I plan to buy it along with a PSP whenever it co

Tahu!

My Dad brought him the Tahu Stars set for me today.   It's awesome, purely for the nostalgia factor. The gold mask alone is nearly worth it for me IMO. Really good set, though I suppose it isn't the absolute best set. Still, I'd say it's definitely a worthy representation of Tahu and a good final red set for BIONICLE, though I can see why some people may not like him much (silver hand guard? What?).   I'm very happy with it .   -TNTOS-

Change Of Plans

I've decided to change the plot of the sixth Glatorian Chronicles, currently titled Escaping the Silent Death. While Branar will still be the main character and primary viewpoint character, I think instead I will have the story take place after the events of TLR and focus on what he did after the movie. Will probably have him encounter the battera, though no plans are set in stone at the moment.   Also, AUA is coming along fairly well. Nowhere near completion yet, of course, but it's coming ste

The Project

Hello, my fellow BZPers and bloggers. Today I'd like to post some plans and information on a fanfic crossover that Tahu: Spirit of the Mist and I were planning on writing but just recently scrapped for reasons that we will go into below. With permission from Tahu I am now going to post what little we had planned and why we are not going to be working on it anymore:   "The Project," as I later dubbed it, was first proposed to me by Tahu: Spirit of the Mist on September 28, 2009. His basic premis

What To Possibly Expect From Me In 2010

This is mostly a list of what fanfics I will be writing and posting this year on BZP, just to give people a heads up in case anyone's interested:   -An Unlikely Alliance will likely be posted in April or May 2010, possibly sooner depending on how editing goes -The sixth Glatorian Chronicles story, Escaping the Silent Death, will also be edited and posted on here at some point in the future, probably in March or April, though don't get too excited, since AUA is taking up most of my writing time

Lots Of Snow

We've had so much snow this month, which is really unusual for us. It has snowed three times down here where I live, including today. Really, we rarely even get snow once a month, so three times in one month sure is something down here.   Yeah. I don't have much to blog about . Although I am thinking of posting my Yu-Gi-Oh! decklist up here, though I don't know if anybody would be interested. Thoughts?   -TNTOS-

Username Change

I have changed my name from "TNTOS" to "Freed the Matchless General," based off the YGO Monster card of the same name.   Unfortunately, the name has came out as "Freed the Matchless Genera," without the "L." Guess it was too long. Maybe I should ask an administrator or someone to shorten it to something like "Freed" for me, although I am not sure if that is possible. If it is, please tell me, because I don't want to be known as "Freed the Matchless Genera" for 45 days.   -TNTOS-

What I Got For Christmas Yesterday

Yesterday was great. Had some great food, the weather was actually pretty nice, and the presents were good. Overall I'd say I liked this Christmas better than last year's, though I did get the first two Harry Potter books that Christmas, so whatever.   Anyway, I got:   -Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Warriors' Strike Structure Deck (Dark Valkyria, Marauding Captain, and Freed the Matchless General, anyone?) -Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Spellcaster's Command Structure Deck (Breaker the Magical Warrior and Enemy Controller

Creating Characters

This entry's going to be a bit personal. A lot of the techniques I use here when designing characters' personalities are mostly my own and might not work for everybody, but that's okay. I just wanted to post how I do it. Nobody has to agree with me, and I don't expect them to.   Now onto the entry itslf:   Whenever I start a story, I need to know who the protagonist(s) are going to be. I have to, even if I only have the bare bones of the plot itself. Really, I don't even need to know how the c

Finished! Finally!

As of tonight I have finished my NaNoWriMo novel, Two Worlds. Though I did reach the 50k mark last month, the novel itself hadn't actually been finished, but I did finish it tonight at 90,591 words. Hooray!   However, I am putting it aside for now to begin work on An Unlike Alliance's third (and hopefully final) draft. With TW out of the way I can put all of my energy on AUA. I expect it'll be up by summer 2010 at the latest, possibly spring at the earliest depending on how fast I get through t

Holy Plot Holes, Batman! ( Smallish Rant )

Currently I am writing a rather in-depth summary of my first epic, The Tales of Shika Nui, for the BZP Epics Wiki, created by Toa Spirit. Because of this, I am having to reread TToSN to make sure that the summary is as accurate as possible.   And man, I just realized that the epic itself has tons of plot holes! I know I was not as good a writer as I am now and that no one is really good in the beginning unless they're born with the gift, but it is very hard to make the summary sound good when I

It's snowing outside right now. Sure, it's probably not nearly as thick as the kind up north, but we rarely get snow down here and it is greatly welcomed.   Now it feels more like Christmas .   -TNTOS-

What Could Have Been: Tapestry Of Evil

This blong entry will contain old ideas about my most recent epic, Tapestry of Evil, which has just had the epilogue posted recently. Here I will detail as many abandoned ideas, concepts, and plot ideas that I had for ToE but were ultimately scrapped in the final draft.   If you want to read the one I did for my first epic, The Tales of Shika Nui, please click here: Link.   Also, please note that this will contain major spoilers for ToE and if you haven't read it yet I suggest not to read this

Cool Typing Test Website

Check this website out.   Found a link to it on another website yesterday. It tells you how many words you can type in a minute, though the disclaimer at the bottom says that it is not perfect and will only give you a clue as to where you are, speedwise. Still fun and slightly addicting to do, though. Almost like a game, really.   My personal best is 87 a minute without missing a single word. Of course, that doesn't mean I always write 87 words minute, since I don't usually type that fast duri

Final Tuesday T O E Update

I posted the epilogue for Tapestry of Evil today, officially ending the epic and tying it into the next one. No, I will not surmise it like I did with past chapters. You go read it if you want to know what happens .   Well, ToE was fun to write and I had a great time talking with my readers in the review topic. It's going to feel weird now that I won't have Tuesday ToE Updates anymore, and it will also feel weird not to be able to post a new chapter every week, too. And I was just getting used
