Superman vs. Batman

Area of comparison: Everything. Just argue the heck out of which character you like more, which has a greater meaning, which is cooler, which is the crown jewel of DC, which you aspire more to be like, etc. Vote Now

8th Most Beautiful Female Character

8 - Selina Kyle   What I like about Selina is that she's grounded. You'd think that since she wears a catsuit when ready for action that she'd be an action girl, and while she can often get her way out of tricky situations, she's not ridiculously good at fighting. Her skill set is dedicated more to the subtle art of cat burglary, which she pursues due to her own complicated Robin Hood reasons. Yet, in spite of her talent, she's not completely off the records. She needs a clean slate and

The Closet

There is a conversation I really need to have with my father. Mainly, I will be travelling down to Sioux City a week from now, and I want to take a car so I can bring my sisters with. There's someone I want them to meet, and vice versa.   I don't have a car; my father does. Ever the compliant one, he absolutely will not let us use his stuff, and gave a flat "no." I wonder if I should explain to him exactly what's going on, but I'm afraid.   See, a couple of days ago I mentioned the term "clo

The Lost Spoon

So I went biking on Saturday, and by now it's hardly news that I regularly bike 50 miles from Dordt College to South Sioux City, except this time I remembered something. Every time I had made this trip, I saw an old discarded spoon on the side of the road at about halfway to my destination. This time, as I saw it on the gravel shoulder of the road, I felt a compulsion to stop and pick it up, and I put it in my backpack. For some reason, I thought of a very specific friend when I turned it ove

Vote On My Name Change

Okay, I've never done this before, but the idea came to mind. Basically, I was considering changing my title temporarily to something that doesn't include the term Emperor. I will be making the switch on December 12. Here are the options.   Keep it at "Emperor Kraggh" Kaiser Kraggh President Kraggh Kraggh Der Führer Χρυσός Kraggh Kraggh II Kraggh   Vote away.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Respect Vs. Appreciation.

At first, I didn't think that there was anything wrong with what EmperorWhenua had said. It didn't occur to me until recently that there was a slight miswording in his logic.       The error was made in the second sentence. Respect should not be lost, no matter what. What mistake was made here is merely the misuse of the word "respect". Instead, the word "appreciation" should have been used. Thus, the result should have been this.       Remember, it is possible to respect someone while not

Is Ew Ready?

Our colony of BZP is ready to accept new sovereignty, and two emperors seek to annex it into their expanding empires.   Emperor Whenua has promised that, if crowned, he will fix the busy sever problem by eliminating avatars altogether. This is a monstrous move defies members' right to distinguish himself as an individual.   Emperor Whenua has also vowed to ban all banner use. To make things easier for the moderators, he says that he will remove signatures completely so that people won't be tem

Muscle and Fitness

I bought this the day after my great transminnesotan bike ride. So long as I'm working to be in shape, I'm going to aim to look like Superman, except my face won't look as ugly as Henry Cavill's. Also, I bought this shirt to work out in, since I don't like lifting while wearing sleeves and I also wanted something Superman-related to motivate me. I love it, and I'm going to wear it a lot. There's a similar Batman tanktop, for anyone who's interested.   I work out pretty hard, but unfortunate

The Sequel Trilogy Sucked

I truly can't believe that Lucus made those awful sequels to the first three Star Wars films. The first three were masterpieces, filled with political drama, fantastic special effects, and a great cast. The next three films really don't count. I'm so upset, I'm going to list why they sucked:   1. Luke's Actor   Here I was at the end of Episode III thinking that Anakin's son was going to be as epic as ever. Yet, it turns out that he's actually as whiny as ever. "I was going to go to Toshi st

Logic And Wisdom

Recently, while on another forums site, I was discussing on a subject about politics. Feeling it necessary and relevant to the topic, I posted bonesiii's mega-blog entry, "The Debate Guide". There was another member who frequently posted on the topic, and also the only one who seemed to have any political opinions whatsoever, who I had had good discussions with, but when she saw what I had posted, her response was this.       This was my response:       More can be added to that. Our opinions

The Number 53

Okay, I love the number 53. For a long time, I've wanted to make a list of all things that had to do with that number. However, I never got around to it. The number seems to be everywhere, and for a long time I've been wanting to record its seeming omnipresence. I'm calling you to reply to this topic and give me various facts in order to assist me in making this list.   Please reply.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Rene

Rene Descartes made famous the line "Cogito ergo sum", translating to "I think, therefore I am." Like a good Neoplatonist, he sought out to prove only things that could be reasoned through means such as mathematics. Yet, what if his math was wrong? What if our reality is completely warped and 2+2 really equals 5 (which in fact it does, for really high values of 2).   And really, what if self-awareness is just an illusion, since how can a unique configuration of atoms known as the brain really

If Bzp Had Mirrors

If BZP had mirrors, my reflection would not show the avatar of Gali that you all know. The avatar itself was merely requested from Bioni-Cool Mech because I wanted to be cool. I wanted to stand out and get a trademark. I want...Popularity. With that comes a thirst for power.   The hunger for power has, for the longest time, been mainly seen as a desire to take over a country, although it can mean something else. We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, but the

Is Batman Batty?

Recently I talked to a young man who wasn't impressed with Superhero movies lately. I asked about The Dark Knight Rises and he said he wasn't interested. Since it was a very interesting thing to say and he seemed to be the type of person who would like such drama, I decided to find out more about his perspectives. Here's his response:   "I'm not sure why people idolize him. Instantly to me I just see a rich billionaire go down and become a sick man who dresses up in a bat costume and goes ou

How to Rate People

A lot of people seem to rate people on their looks, and there's nothing bad about that, except they go about it all wrong. They throw out their numbers with little thought, and higher scores don't have that much meaning. So I'm going to give you some quick tips: There are two factors that go into rating someone, their looks alone, and then the context of their looks. It is possible to say that someone is a 7 based on her looks alone, but then you find out that she's an alcoholic single mothe

Marrying the Person That You Hate

Ah, yes, that old blog entry. Raise your hand if you remember it? Do you recall how terribly that turned out? I still discover little enclaves on the internet that were convinced that I intentionally wrote a guide to being an abusive spouse. Surely I would never want to bring that up again if that's how people are going to react.   Well, apparently I never learn, because I'm writing up that entry again. What could possibly go wrong?   Oh yeah.   But anyway, I've learned something in all my

Why Am I Not Popular? I'm Curious.

The title basically says it all. I've just noticed that a lot of my friends have about an average of eight replies for their typical blog entry, even when they're the random ones. Yet, for some of my entries, I'd be lucky if I get a comment at all. What do they have that I don't have?   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Man of Steel Review

When Goyer pitched Nolan the story for Man of Steel, Nolan stopped everything he was doing because he realized he had just stumbled upon the freshest idea since Marty McFly invented Rock'n'Roll. I had my doubts because I really didn't like having "Mr. Batman" connected to Superman, because I didn't want the Man of Steel to live in the shadow of the Dark Knight. However, I acknowledged that Mr. Nolan loves to play with characters, explore what their meaning, and play with the big moral question

The Avengers Sucked

The Avengers sucked. Not that it was bad in and of itself, but it's totally not what the hype is making it out to be. Plus, it's not even a superhero film, and all I got was this espionage nonsense. It's only redeeming feature was that it featured Christopher Lee.   Now let's see if if a title like this doesn't catch anyone's attention.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Definition Of Reality

Since Robo apparently needs me to spell it out for him, I am going to define reality by breaking up the word into separate parts. "Reality" contains the root word "real" and the suffix "ity". Here is how the dictionary defines the word "real".   QUOTE existing as a fact; not imagined or made up; actual;true     The suffix "ity" is defined as:         Thus, the logical conclusion defining the amalgam of these two units of language is "the condition of existing as a fact".   To explain where Rob

Controversial Opinions

I don't find How I Met Your Mother funny (though I would turn my head to watch whenever Cobie Smulders was onscreen) Joss Whedon isn't that good of a director. Even his ability to write characters is overrated, since there are plenty of people who have done an even better job than he does, such as the marvelous people down at Pixar. I don't like Mal Reynolds. I don't enjoy Nathan Fillion as an actor, or at least with the acting choices he's made so far. I don't like Game of Thrones. I

Dunkirk was a terrible movie

I haven't felt this strongly about a film since 2013.   Good cinematographer Good sound technicians Good production designer   Everything else sucked. You don't feel for a single character, not to mention that literally everyone on-screen is fictional. I remember when he released this thinking, "Ah, for once Christopher Nolan can make a traditional film in a genre that should be larger than him as a director. If nothing else, we won't have any more of this non-linear storytelling." As it happens

The World Needs to Change

People will tell you that all you need is to be confident and good things will happen. Your plans will turn out the way you plan them. Your prayers will be answered. You'll ace your job interviews. You'll pass your test. You'll win the game. Others will like you and hang out with you instead of the other way around.   I'm a manic depressant and an Aspie.   I thought that being secure with myself was some grant life principle, the secret to all success.
