I had a nice long update typed up earlier this week, but when I tried to submit it my internet went out and it got lost.
I've been pretty and starting on Monday it's only going to get worse.
My Spring Break has pretty much consisted of putting in about 35 hours in at the place where I work. Needless to say, I pretty much haven't had a chance to do anything fun this week.
Monday is the official start of the 2011 High School Track & Field season at least for me. I'm in the best shap
Twenty six days and one thousand one hundred and ninety four pages later I've finally finished Les Misérables. This is the second largest work of fiction I've ever read (if you count all three LOTR books together). It was well worth all of the time I've spent on it. I liked the ending, it wasn't too sad, but it wasn't overly happy either. A couple of my reactions in the spoilers.

There is 16 inches of snow in the forecast for the rest of this weekend where I live, which is really too bad since I want winter to be over with.
I guess the forties we've had for the last week or so were too good to be true.
This is a list of all the albums I currently own. I own a compact disc for almost all of the albums, which means I have a pretty big stack. The singles and remaining albums I've purchased off of Amazon. (I hate the iTunes store.)
I should also note, I define a single on this list as a single track, regardless of whether it's from an album or an actual single release.
Album or single - Album Name - Single Name (If it's a single)
3 Doors Down
Single - Another 700 Miles - Kryptonite
I'm still working my way through The List. I started on Les Miserables on January 1st and in the three weeks I was able to check it out from the library for, I read about three fourths of it. When I get it again in two to three weeks, I'll have about 300 pages left to read. It really is a bad book if you can get through the less exciting side tracks. I did find the 50 page break to discuss the battle of Waterloo rather interesting.
I'm starting on 1984 now, which I should be able to fin
At one point, there was this list of books that had gone viral and was spreading around various social networks. There were 100 books listed and you were suppose to mark those that you've read. A lot of them are books that could be assigned for English class, but there are some modern ones. At some point I would like to read through a lot of them, but there will be a few I'll probably have to skip.
The list along with it's formatting information is after the jump.
Thanks to Gatanui, I've been I been informed that I've now been on BZPower for three years. I can't believe it's really been that long. It certainly doesn't seem like it's been three years.
I don't know if that qualifies me as an old timer yet, but I'm certainly no longer a newb.
I get to go back to school on Monday. Winter break is never long enough.
On my plate for this semester are three classes, although I'm currently registered for four.
Math 221 Calculus and Analytical Geometry I
PHIL 194 Critical Reasoning
GER 101 German 101
MUSM 126 History of Rock & Roll
The last two are questionable. The German class has an unlisted lab which may force to drop it. My mom wants me to take it, but if the lab conflicts with my schedule, which really can't be cha
Does my post font seem too big? I thought I had it set to a good a size, but I've been using my laptop and it seems like it got a lot bigger even though I have changed anything. I'm wondering which other people see it.
Normally I would just make a list of significant events that have happened over the last year, but really, I don't have the desire or the willpower to dig through all my blog entries from the past year. So you'll have to settle for a little rambling.
Over the past year a lot of stuff has happened, both in my life and in the world as a whole. Probably the most significant thing I did over the past twelve months was my trip to Washington D.C. and the 2010 National Scout Jamboree. You spe

The light is from the 2009 LEGO City Advent Calender. When I first saw it, all I could think was Narnia. I finally got around to make a vignette to go with it.
My birthday present arrived in the mail yesterday. It turns out it's a new Laptop, and a high powered one at that. I was going to buy myself one at some point this summer but now I don't have to. I wasn't even going to buy one this powerful.
It's an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC, or at least that's what the label says. This is probably one of the largest laptops you can buy. It's even too big for the bag I got from my dad a couple of months ago.

I'm currently in the process of burning my Brickshelf to the ground and reorganizing it. I actually started this a while ago and I'm now just getting around to finishing it. Brand new/old unposted stuff will finally be getting the light of day when I'm done.
I have two new MOCs to post sometime later this week and I have a collection of LEGO pictures that I also want to post some time during break.
I currently just finished Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It was a pretty good book although I didn't really expect the plot twist that came about two thirds of the way through. The ending was rather ambiguous, so I'm not sure if it ended up being happy or sad.
I'm now starting on The Great and Terrible Quest by Margaret Lovett. My mom claims that I read this a long time ago, but I don't remember it. It won't hurt to read it again though.
Next is Infernal Devices by Philip Re
I suppose if there ever was a good time to get sick this is it. With classes done, I don't have to worry about missing and lectures.
Probably just the common cold, but it isn't fun. At least there is no cough like early last summer, when my "cold" turned out to be whooping cough.
Now that classes are finished for the semester for me, I have to decide what I want to do with all my notes an stuff. Normally the important hand-outs and the tests would go in a binder and the my notebook/s would end up in a pile on my shelf.
I'm thinking I should scan almost everything in the computer. The only problem I want to be able to read everything that I scan in and that may not happen. It will also probably take a while to do, since I have a lot of stuff. The benefit though is
I originally thought I missed out on the series 2 minifigs after Toys R Us sold out before I was able to get over there. However, fate had other plans for me.
While I was shopping this weekend I discovered a massive stock pile of series 2 minifigs in the Christmas of a local Shopko. I didn't have a bar code chart, but I manged to feel out a Karate Master. I got lucky with that one, since it came with two of the minifig statue things.
I went back the next day with one of my brothers an
For the last Physics lab we did an experiment involving the the pressure of air at constant volume with varying temperature. In other words, we watched water boil and took pressure measurements at different temperatures. We didn't measure pressure directly, though. We had a special gauge that that changed it's electrical resistance based on pressure.
Due to the jumpiness of the measuring tools, the extrapolated value we got for absolute zero was ~-292° C. The accepted value is -273.15° C.
School is just about over for this semester for me.
I have two review class periods and three finals left. My computer science final is at 10:00 AM on Friday and it's open notes/book so it should be easy. Then on Mondat at 8:00 AM I have the economics final. It will probably decently hard, although it's multiple choice so that makes it a lot easier.
The Physics final is at 7:30 AM on Tuesday. That one will probably be pretty hard. I don't think I'll have too much trouble if I go throu
I braved the somewhat slippery roads earlier to day to go to Toys R Us and pick up some of the series 3 minifigs.
They had a bunch there. I ended up using both the dot chart and feeling the bag to find the figs I wanted. I hadn't realized how faint the dots were so I almost thought that case was defective. Toys R Us had the price $4 per minifig, but I ended getting them for $3 each, since they were having a buy 1 get one 50% off.
I got lucky and found an elf almost right away. I al
I got the 2010 Linux Bible from library earlier today. It came with a couple of discs so I decided to try live booting a couple different versions of Linux.
Both of the versions I tried seemed pretty nice. Everything worked right away, including my usb mouse, so that was a relief. It was pretty similar to the UNIX systems that I've been using at the university for Computer Science Lab, so the difference from Windows wasn't as shocking. I might consider ditching Windows 2000 for Linux at s
