Day 80 So, who's ready for a paper writing all-nighter?! Yeah, me neither. freakin' plato... In other news, we did a fun little trick in Physics lab today. Basically, you hold a bicycle wheel, and get it spinning pretty fast. Then you step on to a turntable of somesort, and turn the bicycle wheel. Due to the conservation of angular momentum, you can get spinning really fast, just by turning the wheel completely over. It's tons of fun.
Day 79 I guess one side effect of barely getting on BZP anymore is missing lots of drama. Ooh, and I nabbed Darksiders II for 17 bucks. That'll be fun.
Day 78 Yeah, I missed posting this yesterday. I was beat. Also, I had a mini panic attack on the airplane ride home. Not fun. In better news: PONIES!! Fluttershy suit is the funniest thing ever. I also made what is both the greatest and worst decision. I read through all of Woonastuck in one sitting. My word. The adorableness-ocity. It looks like I've got a super busy week leading up to Thanksgiving break. I can almost taste the turkey.
Day 76 Well, the conference finished off today. We had some pretty awesome speakers. The Minute Physics guy gave a talk on communicating physics. And the lady who discovered pulsars debunked the 2012 armeggadon theory. I didn't get a chance to watch ponies today. Hopefully tomorrow!
Day 75 Oh man you guys, (and gals), I just got back from downtown Disney. SOOO COOL! Mainly the hanging out with semi-new friends. That was the mainly cool part. The Physics talks today were pretty cool, we had a guy who was on the team that "discovered" the Higgs Boson come and speak, as well as an interesting speaker on Tomology, which is the study of recreating images from several projections. Anyways: PONIES TOMORROW!!!!! It'll probably be late night before I can watch it tho
Day 74 First day of PhysCon!!! *woohoo* Today we had a bus tour of Kennedy Space Center, and we played in the coolest play area ever. Later, there was a speaker who talked about a few topics, mostly involving space travel. Seeing as he's been on five Hubble repair missions, he seemed pretty qualified. I can't wait for tomorrow, it's really cool being surrounded by all these physics students.
Day 73 I don't know if I've ever said before how much I hate flying. It scares the bajeezus out of me. It doesn't help when we bank like crazy on take off. So anyways, against all odds, I made it to Florida. I'm bushed.
Day 72 Ugh, long day today. We were doing a group chem presentation, and it went over by almost an hour. At least I really like the people in my chem group, they're all really fun. Anyways, I leave for Florida tomorrow at 2:30, so I better get some sleep!
Day 71 Ugh, that freakin' laser is a pain in the neck! We seem to have sprung a leak in the main cavity of the laser, so that'll take about a week to fix up. In other news, man I'm so excited for ponies. 'S gonna be awesome.
Day 70 Oh Daylight Savings, I love you so. I finally was able to install some new games, namely AC: Brotherhood, Bioshock 1 & 2, and Crysis. So I'll probably play those when I have some time. wut i leave for florida in three days i'm not ready for that at all
Day 69 Huh, looks like I forgot yesterday's. Oh well, nothing interesting happend yesterday. Today however, I had to get up early, and go rake yards as a fundraiser. It was freezing. Later, I went on a hayride with the Physics Club. That was pretty fun, we sang Christmas Carols, and roasted hotdogs. Good times were had by all.
Day 67 Ugh, college dorms are not very forgiving towards headaches. *owowowowow* Anyways, I'm going to Florida in a week! The "Quadrennial Physics Congress" is taking place down there, and most of our Physics department is flying down next Monday. It's gonna be awesome.
Day 66 So, all day today, someone was in a full Tigger costume. He pogo-sticked to every single class. It was awesome I also successfully upgraded from the 32 to the 64 bit Windows 7, and added four more gigs of RAM to my MacBook. Good day.
Day 65 Well, Sandy pretty much passed us by. We had some wind and rain, but it was barely out of the ordinary. Also, I built a Fibonacci Sequence generator in Python, it also checked to see if it was a prime or not. Anyways, I'm just gonna keep ignoring this whole episode VII business.
Day 63 Man, I've felt terrible all day. Stuck in that sort of "not quite sick, but still feel sick" sort of thing. In other news, Sandy! Maybe classes'll get canceled!
Day 62 Ugh, after spending over an hour and a half on one Physics problem, I think I'm gonna call it a night. Oh, and I beat Darksiders today. I'm looking forward to the playing the second one.
Day 61 So, over the past few days, I've been making a Tetris clone in Python. I finally got it working today, and I noticed the serious lack of line blocks. As it turns out, I actually missed a line, and had no line blocks in the game. The irony was not lost on me.
Day 60 Hey guys, check out this video of a laser lab! http://vimeo.com/52180005 I apologize for the vertical camera. I'm new at this. I finally played some more Darksiders. I gotta say, what the game lacks in story/atmosphere, it gains in spectacular boss fights. I don't know if I've had this much fun boss fighting since Metroid Fusion.
Day 59 We're sooo close to having the laser lined up! I'm gonna try and take a video tomorrow to show you guys what it looks like. Also, late night Smash Bros. matches are the best.
Day 58 For a Tuesday, today wasn't so bad. I had brownies and tea, while watching tv with some friends. Good times. Also: OMIGOSHIRONMAN3LOOKSSOCOOL!!!
Day 57 Well, I started picking up Python again, since I would really love to make a good game in Blender one day. Also, I'm seriously addicted to Dr. Pepper. I'm okay with this.
Day 54 Unfortunatley, we had to restart the laser alligning process in lab today. We turned the laser on, and no lasing happened, so we go back and realign the whole sucker. Also, I got allergy shots today, just in time to remember that I have to do push-ups tomorrow for Phys Ed. Yay.
