Day 53 I spent a good amount of time today trying to get something to work in Blender. I was trying to have a particle field exert a force on itself, where each particle pulls on every other particle, as mapped to a texture. Never did get it to work though. I also cleared up some space on my phone, so either tomorrow or Tuesday, I'll take a video of the laser lab to show you all.
Day 52 Ahh, free day's are so fantastic. I played some more Darksiders, and watched Minute Physics entire series. Now I'm getting sucked into the wild world of topology.
Day 51 I took my Chem test today. Hopefully that went well. We're making great progress in the laser lab. Today we alligned the POT (basically the source of the laser), and on Monday we're gonna fire up the actual beam and see what happens. I get to feel all mad scientist too, cause we actually have a lever that has to be thrown to power the system. It's awesome. Anyways, I hung out with some people tonight, out in the freezing cold. I might have frostbite on my toes.
Day 50 So, we had our fitness appraisal today. I didn't need to get up at 7:30, and run around a lot to know I'm out of shape. Later in the day was much better. We had a Harvard grad come and talk about her research work. She works in finding, tracking, and studying gamma bursts in space. It was a pretty interesting talk.
Day 49 It's such a fantastic feeling to have no homework due. We started the long and infamous process of aligning the laser today. I took a picture, but Photobucket is currently rejecting it. I'll and take some pics on friday, to show you guys what I've been working on. I can't wait for break next week. I'm leaving Wednesday, and getting back Sunday. It's gonna be cool to see people from home.
Day 48 Well, I woke up about 5 minutes before my first test today. I did make it, but it was a bit of a jolt to the day. I'm pretty sure I did alright on my calc test, there's one or two that I can't remember what I put down though. I'm excited for tomorrow though. Since the plumbing side of things is completely finished, tomorrow we start working on fixing up the actual laser itself.
Day 47 Man, I got almost no sleep last night. I just couldn't fall asleep. So that really made today a drag. Anyway, I got some tests tomorrow, so I'll talk to y'all later!
Day 46 Ugh, I have three four midterms coming that I feel woefully unprepared for. I've got Fitness and Calc on Tuesday, Chem on Friday, and Civilization the following Tuesday. Also, I bought "Panic" by Caravan Palace. I think I like their first album better, but it's a little soon to tell. Goodnight all, I hope you had a great weekend!
Day 44 So, after making fantastic progress in the laser lab, we went down to the chem department to grab some deionized water. And I found this beauty: Yep. Just a chunk of Uranium, sitting right there. So yeah, I hung out with some people, which is why this is such a late entry. Fun times.
Day 43 Hey guys, who's got two thumbs, and their dad just sent them an iPhone 5? This guy. B) So that was a pretty awesome highlight of my day, plus I got a decent amount of work done. I'd say I can write this off as a good day.
Day 42 Man, I've just been exhausted all day. All my classes seemed twice as long. I also finished Game of Thrones today, so I need to see about procuring the second book.
Day 41 These 8:00 classes are not for me. Homeschooling does not prepare you for getting up early. I hung out with some guys on my hall most of the day, in an effort to avoid doing homework. That's about all I did today, other than class stuff.
Day 40 So my sister and a friend came to visit, which was lots of fun. I got to show them around, and impress them with the laser. Also, my Chem professor managed to tie in the Bohr model of the atom to Lord of the Rings. The gist of it was, that just like you don't question how the ring works and just accept that it does, Bohr didn't know why his model of the atom worked. I thought some of you might get a kick out of that.
Day 39 I started Darksiders today. It's pretty fun so far, although it doesn't make much sense now. Also, my sister's coming to visit tomorrow! So that'll be fun.
Day 38 So, today was pretty awesome. I watched Doctor Who, which was pretty sad... I miss Rory already. But awesome stuff happened later. So, me and about six other guys went on a night adventure. We went hiking for a while, climbed a barbed wire fence, and then climbed onto a water tower. We chilled there for about an hour. It was awesome.
Day 37 Today was pretty good. I got more homework done then I expected, and still beat Psychonauts, and read some Game of Thrones. I also just watched Inception with some guys on my hall, so that was fun.
Day 36 Not a whole lot interesting happened today. Went to class, did some homework. Normal type day. I'm almost finished with Psychonauts though. Such a fantastic game.
Day 35 Today was... interesting. For starters, I only made it to half my classes today. I slept through Physics, and then completely forgot about Chemistry. Oops. I was just kinda out of it all day, not quite sure why. It was still a pretty good day though.
Day 34 As far as Tuesdays go, this wasn't so bad. I got caught up in some work, and spent a lot of today helping other people on Physics. Which I actually find enjoyable. I like helping people, especially with science/math. (plus I get to help cute girls. ) I finally got my own key to the laser lab, so now I don't have to wait on someone else to let me in! Yay!
Day 33 So, we got the entire cooling system put back together for the laser! Which apparently took someone a whole semester to do before, so we're making great time. We believe it to be out of actual coolant, but so far there's no leakage, which is really good. We might actually have a working laser by the end of the semester!
Day 32 One month. *woohoo* Got together with some people to play Settlers of Catan, which I won. And I just spent the last 45 minutes watching funny videos with people. Good times.
Day 31 In light of the past week of tests, and the little homework I have due, I took the day off. Instead, I spent most of the day reading Game of Thrones. Good day.
Day 30 Whew, finished my last test for a little while. I think it went alright, it was Chem, which I don't really have a problem with. Since I have very little homework due, I finished up Assassin's Creed II, and started on Psychonauts. Which, oh man, is a fantastic game. Oh, I also started reading Game of Thrones, which is a pretty fantastic book so far.
Day 29 Ugh... I got my first allergy shot since being on campus. Needless to say, my body's not taking it so well. My arm's really swollen, and it's super messing with my brain. I can't think straight, and standing's a little difficult. bleh
