CIV VI

Video games industry.   Guys.   I have my final exams when you're releasing all these games.   Have mercy.         Speaking of which, anyone here play Civ V?

The Cycle

I should make cool stuff to post on BZP.   Hmm, I should really do my homework.   Nah, that's boring, why don't I just play video games instead?   Oh man, why did I spend so much time playing video games? I'll just do my homework tomorrow.     It's tomorrow now, and this is why we don't have nice things.

Interview with Lewa

Interview with Pohatu: ~20 minutes Interview with Animation Team: ~15 minutes Interview with Umarak: ~20 minutes Interview with Ekimu/Makuta/Onua/Narmoto: ~20 minutes   Interview with Lewa: ~1 hour     This casting director is a genius.

Truth is Stranger than Fiction

So I actually had a really good April 1st, but I worry that no one will believe me.   The day began with an interview with the voice of Umarak. That guy is a total riot. I don't want to spoil too much from that interview, but it's definitely worth listening to when it comes out in a few weeks.   Then I had an amazing game of Civilization: Beyond Earth -- Rising Tide wherein the massive Korean navy totally demolished anything it ran into. The Americans were destroyed by giant lobsters.   And

More Interviews!

I love how the voice actors so closely match their characters.   The voice of Pohatu was very structured and organized for his interview, made sure everything was ready before getting started, but ended up being really friendly and down to earth.   Meanwhile, the voice of Lewa was a few minutes late, talking a mile a minute, constantly cracking jokes, is an avid gamer, and then had to reschedule when his Internet signal wasn't good enough to make the Skype call. Hopefully it all works out with

Zootopia

Just saw Zootopia today. Good movie. 6/6 Spirit Stars. Would recommend.   I thought it was a pretty good sequel to Disney's Robin Hood, even if it makes no references to the original characters. I guess that can be forgiven since the movie takes place 800 years in the future. (Okay, it's not really a sequel, but there are a lot of similarities: the mayor's a lion, the heroes are a fox and a rabbit? It totally fits!)   But yeah, there were so many Easter Eggs in that movie, it might be worth gett

The very best, like no one ever was...

So I wanted to be a master of Pokémon, but did I have the skills to be number one? I wanted to take the ultimate step and find the courage to be bold; to risk it all and not forget the lessons that I hold. I wanted go where no one's been, far beyond the crowd, learn the way to take command and use the power that was in my hand. You see, in a sense, we all live in a Pokémon world.   Because everybody wants to be a master, everybody wants to show their skills, everybody wants to get there faster,

The Last Will and Testament of SPIRIT

If I die, please don't let anyone make a cheesy Facebook status about me -- especially years after the fact. I mean, I'll accept an online death announcement, but nothing more.   Maybe a statue in a park, but that's it!   I just can't stand the thought of someone else getting fake internet points from my death. It's outrageous, disrespectful, and it cheapens my life to appear associated with the kind of person who does that. No one wants to read about how so-and-so was your best friend, and y

I got a boo boo :(

My fingers hurt from putting together Lego sets.   It's been a while, I'll admit. I completely forgot this was a thing.

Underwater Thief

So I'm watching the newsfeed at the bottom of the TV broadcast when I see this headline about an Underwater Thief being caught. Which, really, is just about the coolest way to steal something.   But then I looked again and it actually said Underwear Thief. Much less cool.     So would that be a reverse Freudian Slip?

Ten Years Ago...

Today is the day, folks. Ten years.   Ten years since what?   Ten years since SPIRIT was the undisputed WORLD CHAMPION of the Spinner Challenge on Bionicle.com!       Let me set the stage... *old timey projector sound and radio voice*   The year was 2006. In the twilight days of the Hordika storyline, LEGO released a pretty simple online game where the Toa Hordika would battle each other with Rhotuka. It was one of those "choose an attack site and choose a defense site" type games. Zero skil

Got Tickets for Star Wars

Got tickets for Star Wars for this coming Wednesday. Great seats (that row just in front of the aisle between the front section of seats and the rest, so extra leg room). In the meantime, I'm doing a full series rewatch with my family.   So far I remain largely unspoiled, but Wednesday is very far away.   Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of spoilers, I shall fear no evil...

Root-Doot-Doot

Another one bites the dust.   Took down Battle Chatelaine Morgan on Super Rotation Battles in Omega Ruby. Swept her whole team with a Gliscor -- it was brutal! Special mention to the Vaporeon, Mega Aggron, and Dragonite that helped me get through 49 other battles to reach her.   The code to see it is G75W-WWWW-WW38-WQJP.   So that's Singles and Rotation taken care of. I think I'll try Doubles next. Any suggestions?

Halp 2 much furst werld promblems

Billions of dollars every year are spent on marketing and advertising to manufacture desire and to tell people what they should want.   This system has failed me.   I don't know what I want for Christmas!     The ultimate of first world problems, yet a problem I have nonetheless.   Got any ideas? My family is already doing the "buy farm animals for people in third world countries" thing, and I could ask for gift cards, but that feels super lame.   What are you guys asking for? Maybe something
