"Ѕtreet Corner Symphony" By Rob Thomas

'Tis one of the best upbeat songs I've heard. I'm glad my mom reminded me about it tonight; she, my youngest brother, and I were browsing a video site via Roku and she pulled up "Street Corner Symphony". I love, love, love it.   In other news, my younger brother loves, loves, loves "What Is Love" by Haddaway. Oi.

Bandcamp Album?

I'm thinking of releasing a digital album via Bandcamp so I can put all the old compositions sitting on my hard drive to use, and provide a viable excuse to get my own bank account.   My question is, would anyone be interested in buying a thirty-minute instrumental album? At what price? Check my SoundCloud account for samples of my composing work.

Review Of Republic Commando: Order 66

I might as well start with the cons, as they will form the shorter of the two lists.   I thought that, at times, the plot seemed a little disjointed; Karen Traviss's lack of location descriptions reinforced that slight confusion. I should be able to better follow when I reread the book in a week or two.   The beginning of the book was fast-paced, yet sans real action. We have Darman's squad, yes, but his battle was stuck in the middle of other happenings and I couldn't really gauge its importanc

Republic Commando: Order 66

As my younger brother finally finished reading a day or two ago, I started on the book. The first thing I noticed is that Karen Traviss doesn't describe locations; I wish she did, as otherwise the book seems great. The characterizations are fantastic, the dialogue seems natural, and thus far the plot appears to be sound.   I've just finished Chapter 4 and am about to read Chapter 5.

Essays / Blog Fad, Anyone?

Research papers are easy compared to persuasive essays. I guess I just need practice.   * * *   Now.   Look at Squishyfrog's blog. Back to mine. Back to Squishyfrog's. Back to mine.   Sadly, mine isn't Squishyfrog's. But with my new subtitle, mine can look like Squishyfrog's.

Progress On Nanowrimo

I have only the first two chapters planned, but I have a bunch of homework to complete and the HF horror story to write. D:   I have a feeling I'll end up flying my NaNoWriMo story by the seat of my pants. I know my two main characters and I have ideas in my head for the various main events, but I don't have the actual plot written. At least trying will mean more writing experience.   Speaking of writing, I need a writing playlist...

"Ḷego House" By Ed Sheeran

Even though it only mentions Lego once, I love the song. If you like gentle guitar and cool drumbeats, check it out. I recommend the music video version; the other versions don't have any other instruments.

Scrapped Moc

I'm getting ready to leave for Friday co-op, but I thought I would share a few pictures I took just now of a WIP MOC that I now consider "scrapped".   Warning: Large photos! -Left -Right -Top   Why am I scrapping this MOC, you may ask? Well, three reasons:   1. I have no idea how to design the back legs or tail. 2. I can't help but feel there isn't much flow to the MOC; it's not very streamlined. 3. There is no other missile launcher piece I can find in my home that has enough space below the ba

Hero Factory Horror Story

In honor of Halloween, I'm working on a horror story. And, yes, it's Hero Factory fan-fiction, my first to be exact.   I plan to give the characters more of a robotic edge than is apparent in the TV show, as that robotic element is key to my plot. Interestingly, this story provides an opportunity for me to briefly explore how the robots in Hero Factory were created, so I'm excited to write this story in more ways than one.   It may be a short story, or it may be a short epic. I haven't decided y

Quotes?

I think a quote block would be an interesting addition to my blog. The only problem: I need quotes.   And that's where you come in. Have you made any quoteworthy posts lately? -- perhaps showed off your incredible powers of sarcasm, humor, or both? Post 'em here and I'll most likely put them in my soon-to-come quote block.

So I Want To Moc

I'm feeling the thirst to MOC.   I'm thinking of building some sort of robotic warrior, perhaps to gain experience using System parts in conjunction with Bionicle, as I remain woefully unversed in that field of MOCing. Preferably it'll be black, gray, and silver, but that's liable to change.   Thoughts? Suggestions?

Formed in 2002 and signed to Mosley Music Group in 2006, OneRepublic is a pop rock / alternative rock band that has released two albums, Dreaming Out Loud and Waking Up, and is currently working on a third. Its members include lead singer / songwriter Ryan Tedder, lead guitarist Zach Filikins, guitarist Drew Brown, drummer Eddie Fisher, and cellist / bassist Brent Kutzle. They're inspired heavily by bands such as U2 and The Beatles, though their songs have been compared to Coldplay's by various
