No, not Aang, or Korra, or the "Vultures Fly" guys.
Five years ago when I did this for my signature, it got me my hilarious cheese wheel, so I'm trying it again. Simply put, I don't want Scarecrow to represent me anymore (even though it's still one of the best character designs of all time), but I also don't want to go back either my old coat of arms or even that glatorian on the back of Strakk's canister.
(Also, it's so nice BZP lets you link to so many things in one post. Can't sa
I don't know how anyone would know this, but I adore and collect stuffed animals and have for as long as I can remember.
Might as well start with the OGs. Left-to-right: Gram Paul "Uncle Grandpa" Penguin, everyone's favorite old man who's gotten up in years and now needs a wheelchair. His son Fat Penguin (named long ago in a different time and place) who's probably the favorite animal I own. He's got a wife and five kids, but we don't need to talk about them right now. Glacier t
It's been almost five years since I did one of these and the last time I did one I opened it with a cringey joke. Either way, I want to post here (before my ten year anniversary next month) and this is all I could come up with so ask away.
Or don't, it's a free website.
But I hope you do because it's kind of the point.
Feature photo is the art for "Meet The Commander". Above is art for "Meet V Squad".
When I sat down to write the first draft of this post a couple of weeks ago I wanted to write something ten times more depressing, angry, bitter, and cynical, but I decided I wanted this to be a happy day since I'm supposed to be celebrating so here's a happier post instead.
Seven years ago today, I wrote a little story about four stereotypes (cowboy, ninja, killer robot, and ex-military guy) saving
I can't believe it's been over a year since I first teased "Law Bringer" on this blog. Of course, I've been working on it for much longer than that, but today is the day I get to share it with the world.
Where does this story start? With the kid who used to write knockoff as well as actual bionicle fan fiction? Or the young man who rediscovered an old hobby and stumbled upon a story that eventually grew into something he had to share with at least someone.
Whether you liked the st
Remember the Baterra from the 2009 storyline? Have you ever asked yourself, "What if they were horror movie villains?"
Quick refresher (long one at BS01), the Baterra were a group of shapeshifting robots created by The Great Beings to end The Core War...by killing anyone holding a weapon because I guess The Great Beings get their morals from "Chappie". After the war they did a number on the remaining Skrall on Bara Magna and forced them to move south and become the villains of the 2
Nine years ago I joined BZPower. This site wasn't even nine years old when I discovered it.
I still have fond memories of those early years. Traffic had already declined by then, but it was still an active place (certainly much better than it is today). Most of the people I talked to back then have since moved on (although it's not like I'm around here much either).
What spinner am I getting? A hau, the kind Tahu Stars wore. I have that set somewhere.
OK, I don't have anyt
Is an actual short story in OTC.
I don't think I have anything else to say. This is my first time sharing something from the project I've been working on for about six years now (I wrote this story last April) and what better place to share it than BZP? Read it if you want, upvote, like, reply in the topic whatever.
Also, this story is a slightly censored version. The violence in the original isn't that much worse, but I didn't want to risk breaking any rules. That's partly why I
Happy Law Bringer Day! Admittedly, I've never celebrated it before today, but you know every tradition has to start somewhere.
Today marks the six year anniversary of when (after several mouths of brainstorming and nearly three years of not writing any fiction) I started writing the first story in what would become "Law Bringer". I thought about honoring the occasion by posting a teaser or snippet of an actual story, but instead I decided to write about my writing.
Recently, I c
I know it has only been a week since I posted a teaser here and a 1,500 word lore dump isn't the best way to drum up interest in a new Sci-Fi IP, but I felt compelled to write this yesterday and while I've shared pieces of the following on other sites I haven't done so here yet. Like all my creative works, make of this what you will.
In the mid-40th century, humanity had achieved what many informed observers considered the highest level of civilization ever seen. Hundreds of worl
Notes:
By "coming soon" I'm speaking in relative terms.
Yes, I know that's a Mass Effect skin by Todd McFarlane, but until "soon" gets closer I don't need to hire someone to make art for this yet. In the meantime, I do need to say this out loud. Or I guess write it out loud...you know what I mean.
I'm pretty sure this site gave me my love of comic sans and some people I hang around now enable the habit so that's my reasoning behind the font choice.
Get ready.
I haven't done one of these in awhile mostly because I don't visit this site that often anymore, but also because I only have four of these and I've covered three of them already in this blog (find them all here). The three I've already covered I found circa 2011 and had a lot of fun with them in high school, but this new one I found years later (maybe 2016) on deviantart from user Amei-San. It is a little longer than the others (25 questions) so if time or playlist size is an issue keep that
Well yes, but actually no.
Technically, I made a "living card game" not a trading card game and (since I'm just playing testing right now) I'm using images from a variety of things I like. I've made about 110 cards so far and above are the ones I've made based on things from BIONICLE.
Right now I'm trying to figure it out how to put the game on screentop.gg so I can play with people online and then I might try and figure out how to do the same on tabletop simulator.

(Some lyrics aren't safe for BZP, so instead of a youtube video here's the album art instead.)
I'm too sad to cry, too high to get up
Don't even try ’cause I'm scared to mess up
Don't like to talk, I just lay in my bed
Don't even try to go out with my friends
Lied to my doctor, she knew I was fakin'
Gave me some pills, but I'm too scared to take 'em
I try and I try, but I'm too sad to cry
I’ve done this a couple of times here before (although I didn’t mean for 6 months to pass before doing another one of these, oops) so I won’t explain it again. You can see my past two here:
Back To The Future
If Life Were A Movie
And I’ll be using my playlist of music from 2017 (557 songs) for this one; share yours below if you want to.
The Future:
1. What is my life’s philosophy?
“Fine” – Tayler Buono (not good or bad, just fine)

...'Cause I would have played them non-stop.
So, needless to say, I wasn't a very happy teenager in high school and back then (as is still true today) when I feel sad or down I tend to listen to sad songs to cope and every once in a while I come across a song that make me thing, "Wow, I really wish I had this song back in high school." Although being honest, my music tastes were a lot more narrow back then so I'm entirely sure if I would have liked these songs even if I had heard them at
All I need to do is
Make the music and try to be true
It's not always so easy to do
But it's better than sitting around wishing I knew
Who, ooh-ooh
Who, ooh-ooh
Who, ooh-ooh
Who, ooh-ooh
It's cold.
In all seriousness, yeah the past few days have been hard. My family lost power early Monday morning and we just got it back this morning. It was a challenge, especially staying (sort of) warm and we're not out of it left (I need to keep this short 'cause we still need to conserve whatever power we can). My last few days consisted of reading by day light, listening to music at night (had to save battery life), and whatever me and my sister could do to stay somewhat entertaine
Another year has come and gone, which means it is time to share my annual year-end songs list. For obvious reasons things were different for music this year, but there were still plenty of great songs that were released and if you know anything about my taste in music then you can probably guess that none of those great songs made my list...but regardless these are my favorite songs from 2020 (links to the playlist on Spotify and Youtube at the end of post).
Following up on my last entry here is another music questionnaire this one asking the question, "If your life were a movie what would the soundtrack be?" I'll go ahead and say that this one was rougher than most of these questionnaires I've done and that's saying something. Either way, here's mine, go ahead and leave yours in the comments if you want.
1. Opening Credits:
“Flood My Mind” – Ivy Levan (ehhhh)
2. Waking Up:
“I Think I Love It” – Alexandra Stan (That
This is something I've enjoyed doing for years since I first got it from this ten year old blog entry; basically, you take a list of questions, set your Ipod (or any Spotify/Apple playlist) on shuffle and answer each question with whatever song you get. The songs usually make no sense as answers, but it has always been a fun past time. I have a word document that I've been filling with these since 2012, but the last one I did was apparently in 2017 so here's one I did a couple of nights ago (u
Today, I got the box containing all my BIONICLE sets down from the top of the closet for the first time in probably a couple of years or so. Giant nostalgia blast. I decided to take a picture to commemorate the moment, but to make it funnier I posed them all duking it out in a huge side-less battle.
Can you spot everything wrong with this picture?
Or considering the activity around here maybe I should call it an "Ask me nothing." Imma rite? Anyway, my premier membership is almost up so I thought I should do at least one of these in my time on BZPower before it finally runs out. So go ahead and ask me any questions you might have in the comments and I'll answer them when I can.
For the uninitiated, The Star Wars Epic Duels Game is a board game released in 2002 to promote "Attack of the Clones"; it did not sell well in it's initial run, but went on to gain a cult following. It also happens to be my favorite board game and is what got me into the hobby in the first place; I'm even a mod over at the Epic Duels Wiki (the number one place to discuss Epic Duels). Naturally, over the years I've thought about combining two of my great loves together, but actual decks never mat
