With an insider like moi at LEGO, deep within the BIONICLE team, you've probably wondered...
"Hey, Binkums, why doncha score us some insider dope, huh? Huh? WELL?"
As always, it's all about you, the fans. So tomorrow, BZP will start a new project. I've convinced some people within LEGO to spend some time answering your burning questions. So look for a news story on BZP shortly with more details about this project.
This was actually something that was discussed back in the summer, but we
I've gotten several questions from people about the special code in the BrickMaster magazine, for the Destral Cycle instructions. Fact is, that's handled by the LEGO Club people, and I don't have anything to do with it, so I can't say when it will be live. However, I have sent an email to the Club producer asking about it, and if/when I find out when it'll be live, I'll post here to let you know.
No, I won't be revealing the code, it's part of the "added value" for BrickMaster.
EDIT: Recei
The cat is now officially out of the bag. The hero has risen. The question has been answered. The mystery has been resolved. And now for a little high-res present, suitably wrapped in a spoiler tag.

This video is the culmination of many years. I am honored to be part of presenting it to you, the BIONICLE fandom.
Just a quick note that my contract with LEGO is being extended into 2009. I'll continue working on BIONICLE.
My original contract was for one year, August 2007 to August 2008; then extended to Dec. 2008; now into '09. Leah is back and working on some other cool projects, but we still work closely together.
By now, it's no surprise to a lot of core BIONICLE fans think they know what's happening in the story at the end of 2008. I ain't saying one way or t'other. But there are some fun things coming your way in the next couple of months that'll probably surprise y'all.*
One thing just came across my desk that tickled me. I had the rare opportunity to write canon storyline for the web site (with Greg's input, of course), and some of what's coming up has a lot of relevance to the entire 2001-2008 st
I've seen threads and gotten PMs about the order of the videos on the front of BIONICLE.com. Several people seem to think there's been a mistake in which video is shown when.
No mistake, this is the way it's been planned.
Once all the videos have been released, you will see the narrative that flows from one to the other. The videos tell a story. The CGI is coming from different sources, including commercials and custom-made videos like the Ignika starting the Energy Storm. One of the comme
Just a random update on various things in the BinkLife.
I'm currently in Seattle to attend BrickCon (formerly NW BrickCon) and hang with my posse. It's been a while since I've seen my AFOL friends in person, so I'm looking forward to it. I've been through the display, and the BIONCLE area is already set up, looks like Roa McToa's stuff... and somebody's been worshipping at the Church o' Cajun just a liiiiiiittle too much, methinks - but in a good way. Some amazing stuff there, and I'm sure th

Now that the game is finally released, I'm getting questions about the new song. I don't know the status, if it's finished or not (although it probably is) I don't have a release date for it I need to check to see if it's been promised as a premiere exclusive for a partner
If it's not scheduled somewhere else, I'll see what I can do about getting it released. But I can't say when it will come out.
Update: Just got some new information. The song is scheduled to be released on BIONICLE.com on
Every time I say "We're shooting for X date for game release," when it's missed I get a bunch of angry PMs and see some demanding posts. So I'm going to stop saying when it will show up. I don't have ANY control over when it will be released, and I'm frankly tired of taking the heat, so I refuse to speculate.
It'll show up when it shows up, if it ever does get released. Please don't PM me for details, because you won't get any.
Edit: I guess you can tell I'm just as frustrated as you guys.
FYI - the Mistika online game is delayed again, until Monday.
I need a new dentist... grinding my teeth this hard is gonna shatter my pearly whites.
[EDIT] Aaaaand... now it's Tuesday. At the earliest.
Some Monday,s yu walk into werk and thing look like itll all be good. Som days, not so much.
Today, not so much.
So, the countdown has been scheduled for several months now. I just found out last Friday that one of the servers used to develop the site will be down until Tuesday afternoon, which means I can't make any changes to the site that weren't already scheduled to happen.
That wouldn't be so bad, but it turns out there's a bug in both the Takanuva's Blog Flash, as well as the Movi
Here's a blog entry near and dear to the hearts of many BZP members...
Mistika Game Status Update
The game, originally scheduled for release July 1, is now finally in QA (Quality Assurance). There's only one person in the entire organization of LEGO who can take it further, and he's travelling right now, so we need to wait until he can get to it. The game will be live no later than September 1st, hopefully sooner.
We were planning on having two separate sets of levels, but it looks like w
BZP Admin Binkmeister interviews BIONICLE.com Webmaster Kelly McKiernan
Following hard-hitting journalistic successes like “Bohrok-Kal price cuts at Wal*Mart” and “Keychain update”, (former) BZPower admin and newsguy Binkmeister tackles his toughest interview yet: Kelly McKiernan, current webmaster of BIONICLE.com and BIONICLEstory.com. Bink cornered Kelly and forced the following answers out of him. Contrary to Kelly’s complaints, the rope marks aren’t permanent. Sissy.
Bink: Tell us wh
In Denmark, there's a town called Billund.
In Billund, there's a building called Tech House.
In Tech House, there's a room called the BIONICLE meeting room.
In the meeting room, there's a cardboard standee of Antroz, batteries long ago depleted.
On the cardboard standee there's a sign.
I put the sign there.
Seven years ago today, Rich, Jon and I launched BZPower. I really didn't know how far it would come; I was personally hoping for a million posts. We're now at five million, and 40
So now that all the major issues have been taken care of... I'm off on vacation for the next 2.5 weeks. I won't have access to a computer, so no BZP during that time.
Don't miss me too much!
OK, now that the drama is over, time to update you on a few things. BIONICLE.com is now updated for US and UK. Other languages will follow in the next 60 days. I really like the overall design of the site. It's the closest I can think of to matching the rest of the campaign. The artwork was actually taken directly from the same Photoshop files used in the packaging. The new song is not yet available for download. That'll come later. It's from the same lady who sang "Creeping In My Soul". The guy
This is to answer the masses of PMs I've received about the script for Comic 12.5...
"It'll be up when I can put it up."
We're going to launch the updated web site tomorrow, as has long been announced, so it's safe to assume that it'll be included in that update.
I know how you BIONI-junkies crave eye candy, so here are a couple of things to tide you over until next week.
First some good news: I've received nearly all the assets I've been waiting for to get the web site complete. We're now at 98% complete, with one exception. The bad news: that exception is the game, which looks to be a week or two late. So the site will launch without a new game until later in July. But that's not a huge deal, I think. There's enough to keep you busy for a while.
Well, BIONICLE.com is 90% complete for the update on July 1. The home page still has a couple of things I'm waiting on, and the game is still in the works, but overall I'm pleased with the status. Hope you guys like it.
I also just got done with nearly a full week's worth of all-day meetings with various groups. Some highlights: Heard the new song. It's almost 5 minutes long, and features the same singer from "Creeping In My Soul". If you're nice I'll get her autograph and post it here. Was
Guess what I've been working on?
The only unfortunate point is, I have to have it done by Tuesday morning, and I have meetings all day Monday. So flashback to last December, when I worked 15 hour days to get the Phantoka update done. This isn't that bad, but still, working on weekends stinks.
At least the weather sucks too, so I'm not missing anything.
Clearly some of the things in the snapshot above are placeholders - and some aren't. I'll leave you to ponder which is which, and it's
Planning for the second half of 2008 is going well, and I’ve got most of the stuff ready. In case you’re interested, here’s a day in the life of a BIONICLE webmaster…
The design has been created, four rounds of reviews later we have a winner. It’s a lot brighter than anything you’ve seen from BIONICLE.com in a long time. The game is coming along just fine, as far as I know. I’ve only seen screenshots, but I have every confidence it’ll rock. It’s being done by the same company that did the Mahr
