Name Change Voting - Day One

Welcome, one and all, back to the polls for my next name! I have received a huge number of suggestions from you, the members, and now comes the chance to vote!   The rules for these polls are nearly identical to those for the last polls: every day, I will remove from the polls the six names with the least votes. There were twenty-six names entered, so tomorrow I will remove six and bring that number down to twenty. Day two will see that number brought down to fourteen, then eight, then two, then

ermagerd NAME CHANGE TIME!

I remembered that I would be able to change my name yesterday, but I totally forgot to make a blog entry about it! Anyway, let's make up for lost time and get started!   You may now suggest names for me to adopt for the next 45 days. I will accept any name, except for ones that break the rules, obviously.   There are no special stipulations this time, but keep in mind that I won't use names similar to ones I've used in the past! This means that strings of gibberish and [member's name] is awesome

Will Make Coffee for Food

As was related in my previous entry, I am now an employee of an adorable little coffee shop. I have worked four shifts so far, and learned a little more with each shift.   My first shift, as you know, I started out washing dishes. My second shift saw me working the till and learning how to pull a shot of espresso.   My third and fourth shifts were interesting.   Saturday was my third day. I learned how to steam milk (which turned out to be way easier than I had thought it would be), and then beg

First Days On the Job

As you may or may not know, I was recently hired as a barista at a local coffee shop.   I have no experience as a barista, if you're wondering. I have my foodsafe certificate, which means I'm licensed to work in the food industry, but the most experience I've had brewing coffee is dumping some grounds on the machine at home and making some drip coffee.   But I'm not an old dog yet; it's time to learn a new trick!   I started off yesterday washing dishes. Not very glamorous, but everyone has to

Bad Movie is Good?

You know when you're watching a bad movie, but it's so bad that it's good? As in, the acting is wooden and the dialogue is terrible and everything sucks but it's stil an enjoyable movie?   Why is that? It's seriously so weird.

Les Mis and TDKR

holy cow my mind has been blown over the past two days. seriously.   My brother was in a production of Les Mis, so I went to see it on Saturday night. It was incredible, to say the least. I've seen the movie but I've never seen the play, so I didn't know what to expect, but it was brilliant. I've actually never seen anything like it. I couldn't sleep afterwards becasue it was simply so glorious and my emotions were all jumbled up.   hurgh   Then, as if I hadn't blown my mind enough, I went to se

So I'm an AFOL Now...

I'm also eligible to vote and own property, but who cares, right?   So, yeah, my birthday was on the 24th. Didn't do anything for it, as I was actually busy being a counselor at a kids' camp that I volunteer at every year. I did get some cake, though, which is all anyone really needs on their birthday.   I'm also an AFOL now, which is really neat. It's definitely an odd feeling to be an adult; it's always been that thing you think about but it's so far off in the future you can't imagine it hap

Wait, I've been here how long again?

July 13th, two days ago, marked my eight-year anniversary of joining BZP.   It's really, really weird to look back on those eight years, because I've changed so much. For one thing, I've gone from being eleven to seventeen, which is pretty huge by itself. I remember my first short stories and how terrible they were. I remember the noobish stuff I did, like posting topics in the wrong places, spamming emoticons, and even PMing Bink asking to be a Moderator.   I remember trying to join the BZPRPG

Sick As A... Dog?

So, yeah, been majorly ill the past couple of days. Sick as... well, a dog. As I write that, I'm wondering where that expression came from. When people use the expression 'sick as a dog', it means you were extremely ill. Do dogs have a penchant for terrible sicknesses or something? No idea.   In search for answers, I'm turning to the almighty master of information: Da Google.   Apparently, the expression was first recorded in the early eighteenth century, in what was probably nothing more than a

ukulele

Bought a ukulele the other day. Took it on the ferry and had a blast (because what else is there to do on the ferry?). It's so fun because you can whip it out anywhere and start giving it.   Stoked on life. Ukuleles are awesome.   My chemical makeup just gained half a kilogram of music, and I already had a rather large amount there to begin with.
