Hardly the worst song ever. All who say so either aren't BIONICLE fans or are ex-fans who dropped out before 2006.
*cue slew of comments referencing songs even worse than Piraka Rap*
It's been nearly a month without an update. Talk about wasting my valuable money.
Honestly, nothing interesting/enjoyable has really happened since I posted last. School work and extracurricular activities have been taking up most of my time. On top of that, I've been doing job interviews, while show me just why my GPA is low. Spring break for me, starts tomorrow, but I'll be spending most of the coming days finishing up my homework assignments that are due at the end of this week.

Update 2: "On a Quest" has also been added. Like "Cy-Wahi," I was also going for the feel from the MNOLG soundtrack. Let me know what you think!
Update 1: The 'Cy-Wahi' theme has been added. To give you a frame of reference, I'm trying to go for the MNOLG feel (Le-Koro especially), with the techno/vaguely tribal feel. Please tell me how close I've gotten to achieving that. It would really help.
Part of any game development process is music composition (or music ripping if you're lazy =P).
... with a vengeance. The poor snow didn't even have a chance to plead its case. I almost felt sorry for it.
Almost.
Take note, kids. Don't mess with Texas - especially on Super Bowl weekend!
Speaking of which, this will be the second time I've been in a city where the Super Bowl is held. I wonder if there'll be any huge halftime controversies like last time.
I've never played any of the LEGO <insert franchise> games, and I thought it'd be a good idea to pick up LEGO Star Wars 2, especially since I already said in my Cyan Productions topic that Influx would be inspired a bit by this game. Hard to do that when you haven't played it.
I'm liking it so far. I'm only on the first level, but it's super easy. It's still really fun though, and I'm sure it's going to get harder as I go along. I'm already getting some good gameplay ideas to use in In

... but do shadows expand or contract when the character is off the ground? I thought they contracted... but Unity is making me second-guess it, by having its default blob shadow expand.
And no, I can't just go outside and see because it's the month of January, and January in north Texas = no sun.
I finished my dialog tree system for Influx!
Did you know that a dialog tree isn't usually a tree but a complex directed graph? Yeah, that can mislead you into trying to create a Tree data structure that wouldn't work anyway.

I'm getting a little bit of a Fall break this week, and it feels great to have a little bit of breathing room so far. I'm hoping you young people can be a little more relaxed than I am.
And you know what I'll be doing?
Fasting! It's a pledge for charity - companies donate money to this charity for every person who pledges. It's being run by the Muslim Student Alliance at my university (I'm a part of a handful of multicultural organizations - I am not Muslim myself) Ramadan's going on now, and to give non-Muslims a taste, we fast for a day. On my birthday.
Now, to clear up any misconceptions, I'm very proud to be doing this. It's for a good cause and I'll learn something
School started this past Thursday, and I'm taking 18 credit hours (which is 6 classes for those not in college yet). I thought I'd just share what I'm taking this semester, so here we go: Digital Art - designing professional-looking artwork with Photoshop Understanding World Music - studying the basics of music all around the world Probability and Statistics for Software Engineers - Math Math Foundations for Software Engineers - more Math Business and Public Law - An interesting look at civil co
Here's a screenshot of the Character Stats menu that I've been working on:
The Kanohi images need a little bit of tweaking, but function-wise, they're pretty good. For the Skills Panel, you click on the glassy orbs to choose your skill level (green is low, yellow is medium, and red is high). However, each level upgrade requires a certain amount of Skill Points. Clicking on the button will do nothing if there aren't enough SP.
My biggest issues are coming from the Equipment Panel at the
I'm in Austin right now, chilling and taking a breather before my... *sigh* Physics final. But ANYWAY, I'm enjoying being in a different city for a day, and as mentioned earlier, I'm sitting only a few yards away from the LEGO Store that opened this weekend. I've taken quite a few pictures with my camera phone (insert lol-I'm-poor jokes here) and I'll write an in depth recounting of what I've seen later. Must say, this event's a lot bigger than I expected. Never been to a LEGO Store opening, but
So... I need some ideas for my role-playing in the BZPRPG. I've completely hit writer's block for the story revolving around two of my characters. I need something fresh and interesting, but my brain is fizzled (too much programming?). Right now, they're working on a marketing project for school, and I need to throw hijinks and drama into that to get some desperately needed CD. If anyone has any mini-plot ideas, throw them this way please.
Have fun and pleeeeeease be safe (you know how safe you guys were last year? BE SAFER!!) I'd rather not see any "In memorium"s on the front page during this weekend.
Other than that, do as many Brickfair activities as you can (unless you're the coordinator and/or this if your first time to Brickfair and meeting people, I'd recommend against spending the whole day at the BIONICLE table), and do enjoy yourselves, on my behalf at the very least.
Since I have nothing better to do that Sunday (>_>) I'm thinking of driving to Austin for the store opening, provided that I still have plans for Saturday. If it turns out that I won't be doing anything Saturday I'll go that day instead.
I don't know why I'm putting this out there, no one I know is going and no one else would recognize me. Plus, I'm still not 100% sure I'm going (I still need to take my car to the auto place to make sure it's up for 200+ mile (per trip, so 400+ total)
hehe, missed a day!
Anywho, let's not waste anymore time! With anniversary week almost over, I decided it may be best to just do 2 years today and 2 years tomorrow! Not much happened during my recent years, so these entries should still be at a bearable length.
In 2006, I was working on my biggest JRPG to date: The Legend of Mata Zuto: Fall of the Conqueror . The last half of 2006 was admittedly frantic because of this. In RPG Maker, you generally have to use the default menu system that i
This is about the time when the Game Company fad drew to a close. MeNOL was finally released, and it was awesome, though it only had one level. Unfortunately, free time for -Takua- and Tula began to become more scarce, and there simply wasn't enough time to get an update out. On top of that, there were foundational issues in the programming, and the creators realized that in order for the game to improve, they would like have to start from scratch (yes, I've been there many times myself).

Ah yes, my third year at BZP. It had now become permanently part of my e-routine, checking posts in the RPG forum as well as browsing the other boards. The last half of this year mostly was about the 2nd movie - the best BIONICLE move, IMO. I lot of people weren't sure on what to expect, considering the setting was entirely different. All-in-all though, the movie was very well-received (minus a few naysayers, but I will get to them later in this entry.
You may remember me mentioning an MNOLG
