guess what movie I saw

that's right, last night I rewatched the original Friday the 13th!   regardless of all the movies and shows he's done or his numerous Hollywood connections, I'll always remember Kevin Bacon as the guy who got stabbed in the throat with an arrow from underneath the bed.

Mark Zuckerberg Is Lex Luthor

casting Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in Batman/Superman seems like a weird idea until you realize that he's actually the same age as Henry Cavill   if he plays the character anything like he played Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network, though, I can see him pulling it off pretty well

listening to a Lego art director scream his head off (Song of the Moment)

"For Those of You Who Kill" by Aftershock!   Aftershock was a pioneering underground metalcore band active during the late 90s/early 2000s and perhaps best known for featuring several future members of Killswitch Engage, including guitarist Joel Stroetzel, former drummer Tom Gomes, and most notably lead guitarist and primary songwriter Adam Dutkiewicz.   in addition to Adam, however, Aftershock also featured his brother Toby Dutkiewicz on vocals - who, as I detailed here, is now known for being

random life update thing [updated 12/10/13]

I typically never do these kinds of things but some stuff's been goin on recently so yeah   a couple weeks ago I saw a doctor about a cold, and while I was there he took my blood pressure and was very concerned about how high it was and told me to schedule an appointment with my usual doctor to have it looked at.   about a week later I did so and was sent home with a prescription for blood pressure medicine that I now have to take regularly as well as instructions to have lab work done ASAP.   o

a fine example of one of those bands that I never really liked much but then one day they just sort of clicked and I became something of a fan

The Doctor of the Day

pretty great special but I think people have been waaay overselling it, seeing the Doctors together was honestly the best part of it for me   the story wasn't anything amazing and I thought the ending was dumb   buuut it was enjoyable and certainly not the worst thing Moffat has ever done.   (also for god's sake, can everyone please stop assuming that everyone else has seen it and thus it's okay to thoughtlessly post untagged, warning-free spoilers everywhere? like, I knew several major plot poi

This Arrived in the Post Today

normally I don't go for these "Original Album Series" box sets because they don't include booklets and the discs are packaged in cheap cardboard sleeves, but I found this on eBay and had to get it.   all three of the Sisters' studio albums - First and Last and Always, Floodland, and Vision Thing - plus the collection of early EPs and singles Some Girls Wander by Mistake and the greatest hits compilation A Slight Case of Overbombing packaged together - basically the Sisters of Mercy's entire disc

Michael Jackson Collection Completed

no pictures yet, but last night I picked up Michael Jackson's double studio/compilation album HIStory: Past, Present and Future Book I on CD for $4 from a local music shop, thus completing my Epic Records-era Michael Jackson collection (with the exception of 2001's Invincible which is non-essential and frankly not very good).   here's one of my favorite tracks from the studio album portion of HIStory, titled HIStory Continues, which is Jackson's excellent cover of The Beatles' "Come Together":

In Addendum

for the last time, this is NOT something that is open to opinion or disagreement. there is NO CHOICE involved here, it is NOT just a "lifestyle". you cannot disagree with cold hard facts - not without being objectively WRONG.   additionally, people telling you why you are wrong is NOT oppression. how dare you continue to insist you know or face oppression over this. you DO NOT.   please educate yourself.

Regarding "Regarding "DONE""

no, you cannot. because it's not a choice, it's not open to debate or opinion, and if you """disagree""" with a harmless, intrinsic, unchanging part of who somebody is, you are not only objectively wrong but also kind of a bigot.   it's like if I told you that I "disagree" with your race and it makes me uncomfortable for you to be so "overt" about it.   that would be a little thing called racism, just like what you're talking about is a little thing called homophobia.   please take your harmful,

remember that brickfair entry I promised

um I never actually started that   but basically brickfair was fun and I met a lot of cool people and some stuff happened like Korra party and laser tag and Nervous Pudding concert   which was really really good btw and you should totally go support them by buying their singles and their album when it comes out (I gave Princess Grr the money for the album in person and essentially pre-ordered it and I also bought a sticker and got it autographed so yeahhh!)   I've been working on revising my lis

The Killing

without a doubt the most depressing show on television right now.   last night's episode literally had me sobbing     unrelated: anyone else ever wake up and think "I'm going to buy Michael Jackson's entire Epic Records studio discography" because I did
