So guys: BricksCascade and Brickfair. BricksCascade is the first weekend in June, and Brickfair the first weekend in August. I am the coordinator for both, as we've previously established. And, as also previously established, if you send me MOCs for BricksCascade, you will not only be eligible for one of our FOUR BIONICLE trophies (hand-made and designed by yours truly), but I can also take them to appear at Brickfair as well, for NO ADDITIONAL COST. Yes, this would mean I'd have your MOCs
I have seen so very many people complaining about this whole 'custom' nonsense lately. The majority has decided that MOCs need not be 'custom' to be good.
And to this I say...
True, but this is also not an excuse to go out and build oodles of Toamods, or other regurgitated lumps of parts. When most of us discuss something 'not being custom' being alright, we're not giving free reign to just build different versions of the same thing (as an aside, TLC please read that and apply it to your
While I do have eventual plans to use some of these on MOCs, and whatnot, let's face it. I have a bunch of this mask just sitting in a bag. I've never planned on hoarding them (contrary to the common refrain on my favourite image board ), and though I plan on handing them out at cons (like I did at Cascade a few weekends ago and will at BrickfairVA in a few months), that still leaves me with a lot of them. I'm not interested in selling them (and I'm not sure I'd be technically allowed to consid
This emoticon is not cool. It is not awesome. 'Awesomeface' is a misnomer. It is not awesome. Stop using it. Just like all internet memes, this is not cool.
Stop.
The BBCC50 MOC continues it's very slow march to amazingness!
I'm a pretty big fan of what I've got so far, and here's hoping you'll like it too.
(You didn't think I had pictures, did you?)
Today I was told that Internet Rebellion wasn't dumb, it was just radical.
Radical? Really?
Radical is sitting at a counter where you are prohibited to sit because of centuries of discrimination built into the very legal code, and not getting up or retaliating no matter how intensely you are ridiculed or beaten.
Radical is refusing to eat until the illegitimate authority that has ruled your land through fear and intimidation, along with outright terror, leaves. And not only that, but s
Updated from yesterday. Legs are mostly done, with few details and such to be added. Torso is under development, this is basic so far. Head is just a placeholder (probably) while I work on proportions and whatnot.
I'm going to do a write-up about the entire NYCC trip, but I want to edit my photos first. For now, here's the image of all the parts and masks I ended up with after NYCC. But first, a little explanatory background: Several months ago, I got an email from a woman on the LEGO CEE team, asking if I wanted to be part of a project she couldn't tell me about. I, of course, said "uh, only absolutely." She sent me an NDA, and I signed it. The next email started out with: "So we're bringing BIONICLE b
Kirsten Dunst was a terrible Mary Jane.
Tobey Maguire was a terrible Spider-Man.
James Franco was a passable Harry.
A reboot is in the best interest of everyone. Let's get a sarcastic smart aleck for Spidey this time, and not only a natural redhead for Mary Jane, but a natural redhead with actual acting skills.
I've got an interview with Arvest Bank on Monday! I applied for both a position as a teller at a local branch, and as a customer service rep in their corporate office in Downtown Tulsa. The interview is for both positions, and both are full-time!
Please let this happen, please let this happen, please let this happen.
Also, this means I get to dress up all business-like! And that's a win as well. I love dressing up all snazzy. Too bad it's too hot for a blazer!
Yes, I have seen them. And yes, I'm disappointed.
Though I am glad that, for once, the leaked images are high-res. In fact, there are even CG promo renders. Much better than in the past, and they give a nice look into the construction (like it's really been that hard since TLG adopted the standard boring body design), etc.
So, my pronouncement?
I'm bored. Same ol', same ol'. We used to get new ideas year in and year out. Take out your Olda, Nuva, Metru, Hordika, and Inika sets. With t
Okay, there will be a news article sometime soon with the details for how to send in MOCs for BricksCascade (and by extension, any MOCs sent in for Cascade will be automatically sent to Brickfair as well, as I'm the coordinator for both conventions, and so for just one shipment of MOCs, your stuff can hit both coasts). ALSO THERE WILL BE PROTOTYPES FOR ANYONE WHO SENDS STUFF IN. BUT, that's not what I'm here for right now. One of the great things about BIONICLE and BZPower has always been th
So Brickfair was lots of fun! And if you weren't there, you missed out on the best time of your life. But it's okay. That's why I take photos, right?
A few MOC highlights:
Built by our own Chocofrogs.
Tufi Piyufi, as built by ToM.
I think this one is self-explanatory.
By Bunda!
By Smeag!
And of course:
And most importantly:
Jazz! By ToM!
Thanks for sending in MOCs you guys, and I hope we can see more of you guys next year!

I am playing with Ben 10 pieces. Nothing serious. I just wanted to see if the torso armour could be used on the Inika build, and look okay. It can.
This isn't a serious MOC, and it's not anything special. I don't have but a handful of odds and ends here in Tulsa, as my collection is at school. Apparently in that handful of parts was an almost-intact Lewa Nuva T9. Now he's been re-adapted for fiery environments. Crazy.
