Everyone Has Someone To Love Them

Queen of Noise

This is a combined cover of the Yoko Ono songs 'Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him,' 'Every Man Has a Man Who Loves Him,' and 'Every Woman Has a Woman Who Loves Her.' Since we, the members of Taped Headphones, support love no matter where you are on the Kinsey scale, we thought it was a relevant and appropriate sentiment.

The mixing job is very poor; we were rush-releasing this in order to have it ready for this month's Powercast. None of us is at this top of his or her vocal game right here - so this is one of several of our tracks I have dog-eared to remix at a later date. But the emotion in Bryan's and Becca's performances are fantastic and I'm comfortable sharing it at this juncture.

Support love!

When are you going to release the rest of the album?

I expect sometime this summer, probably around July, will see the 'release' of our first album, which will just be covers. We've got eight tracks down so far but the mixes aren't finished (and some, like this one, will need some re-recording of certain parts; all three of us have expressed some displeasure at our vocal performances in this track). Everything we've posted on the Powercast thus far is rough and unfinished (to varying degrees).

Currently the running order for the cover album is like so:

1. I'm a Believer

2. Sill Alive

3. Two of Us

4. Everyone Has Someone to Love Them

5. I've Got a Feeling [Feat. Bulltop]

6. Blitzkrieg Bop

7. You Can't Always Get What You Want [Feat. Bulltop]

8. Rebel Rebel

These will likely be rearranged and there will totally be additional tracks recorded by then (I'd like to have a greater presence of the rest of my bandmates! So more Becca vocal spots and some keyboard-driven pieces for Bryan to shine at). But yeah, I expect recording and mixing for all of this to be done this summer.

Ideally, at that time, we'll have some original compositions available as well. I'm sitting on about twenty original songs of my own right now, in various states of completion, but all are only at the demo stage and I've only circulated them amongst some close friends thus far. Starting in May, though, I'll have significantly more time (and disposable income) to devote to all this and plan to get the ball rolling.

I really really liked the raw energy in this track, though. You guys don't sound bad at all, just y'know, raw.

Still Alive needs so much rerecording on my part. XD

You think? I really felt all that track needed was some remixing and a new bassline. It and "I'm a Believer" are definitely our best successes thus far, I thought.

*shrug* Possibly. I need to make myself listen to it again. But I did not like the job I did. XD I'm a Believer is gooooooold!
