Yes, it's the third one, but it's being built from the ground-up by DICE now instead of...whoever it was before. They're simply leaving the "3" off it.

No numbering. My guess is they're going the reboot route.

Or just not calling it Battlefront 3 because the cancelled one was so heavily talked about that they don't want people thinking they actually went back to that when this new game is going to be just that - completely new.

So long as it's as much fun or more than the second one was, I could care less what it's called. For that kind of entertainment, I'd play a title called Star Wars Battlefront Birdbath.

Alright, so, there's actually a third thing. MEGAMAN IN FREAKING SMASH BROS 4.

Probably doesn't matter as much to everyone, but I'm so hyped right now; that is pretty much everything I wanted from E3 minus an actual game announcement(But I don't think Capcom's said anything, and there's always the 3DS presentation, so slim hope there). Words can't describe how awesome that was, so that made my day. =P (Knew about the two things here last night. =P)

There is a disturbing lack of Kingdom Hearts III on this list.

What consoles will Battlefront be available for?

After watching the Mirror's Edge 2 trailer I have learned that DICE is honest (coming... when it's ready). Also my friends who bugged me about Star Wars Battlefront coming back were right.

I got my XBox 360 years back in the hope Battlefront 3 would eventually come out on it. If this is only available on the Xbox One, I will be seriously annoyed.

DICE announced that Mirror's Edge 2 will be available on next-gen consoles and PC, so I'd imagine the same probably goes for Battlefront. Last-gen console versions are possible, considering Battlefield 4 (also made by DICE, and on the Frostbite 3 engine) will be available for last-gen consoles.

I think it all depends on how far out the release date is, and whether last-gen consoles are officially "retired" by then.

PC versions for both are definitely a safe bet, since EA undoubtedly wants them on their Origin service.
