You know what would be cool?

It would be cool if Nintendo would do another Pokémon game similar to Coliseum or XD for the Wii-U. Those were fun games, despite the limited number of Pokémon you could catch.

Obviously, such a game would not be exactly the same as Coliseum/XD, but it would be cool if they did that sort of thing anyway. Anyone else agree?

I generally disliked Colosseum and XD, and now that we have 3D games that are actually as good as the rest of the games in the series with all the benefits that come from handheld gameplay, I don't really see the point of further console RPGs like Colosseum or XD anymore.

I do, however, think the Wii U is ideal for a new Pokémon Snap.

Water?

Ice cubes?

GLACIERS?!

A dead Matoro? (Oh, wait, oxymoron, my bad)

Yeah, that would be fun. Also if they did this, they simply must come up with a tune that is just as, if not more, catchy than Mirror B battle from XD.

Good point. Guess I'm just feeling nostalgic for Colosseum and XD.

I used to like them moderately, but looking back there was too much edginess for the sake of edginess, an extremely restrictive overworld made up of disconnected locales, a general lack of variety in terms of Pokémon selection (thanks in part to the fact that there were hardly any actual wild Pokémon). Given that X and Y (and Black and White) have improved upon just about every aspect of them while staying closer to the franchise's roots and values, there's not much left in Colosseum or XD for me to be nostalgic for.

I dunno, I kinda liked the settings more in XD and Colosseum.  The mad scientist's lab with a secret entrance, the Krabby Shack with a fun old ditty, a sunken ship in the middle of a desert, the very top of Mt. Battle, The Under, Phenac City and a town covered in tree roots were all a lot better than so many settings in the handheld games.  I loved Village Bridge and Pokemon Studios and the Marine passage in black/white, but there wasn't a whole lot in X and Y that really struck me as awesome in terms of setting.
