Exactly, which is one of the reasons I'm not particularly excited for its return. Not to say that it won't be good, because the HF building system is great, but it just doesn't matter to me personally as much anymore, I guess.

I disagree with that. The Legends of Chima constraction sets use the same building system as Hero Factory, but still stand out as a separate theme by virtue of their designs. There is much greater emphasis on organic textures versus mechanical ones. Honestly, this building system has all sorts of wide-reaching potential that few BIONICLE fans seem to appreciate. It was very clearly designed for the long term, as any good building system should be.
